4.0 out of 5 stars A great language tool, 5 Feb. 2005
These cards are great for helping children improve their vocab. The only criticism is that they dn't have real pictures of animals. This isn't a big deal especially if your child is older, but I would have preferred real pictures of animals to show to my toddler.

5.0 out of 5 stars Required reading if you have a daughter!, 5 Feb. 2005
This review is from: Growing a Girl (Paperback)
This book offers a real insight into the trials of raising a healthy female in todays culture. It emphasises knowing your daughter first and foremost as an individual, while offering a variety of ways to help her stay emotionally and psychologically healthy. Many people equate feminism with 'man-bashing' but there is none of that in this book. This book is just as accessable to fathers as it is to mothers. Packed full of recommendations for resources to share with your child to help her develop a healthy equalist view of the world and counter cultural gender stereotypes. Required reading for anyone who has a daughter, or even if you don't it's stimulating stuff.

1.0 out of 5 stars overly simplistic. not much help., 12 May 2004
'This simple and friendly' appraoch i found to be patronising. Overly simplistic for anyone who has half an ounce of common sense when it comes to children.
