5.0 out of 5 stars Really does the job well..., 19 Mar. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
THE GOOD: The picture makes these look a bit small, but they work well, and seem just the right size/shape to scrape all my mixing bowls, helped by the flexibility of the silicone. They work that well that you'll really get all the mixed ingredients into your cake tin etc.

THE BAD: This works so well, there's never any cake mix left in the bowl for the kids to lick afterwards.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tops, good quality, 6 Feb. 2010
I have to start by saying that I love these tops. So much so that I got one of each colour. They're good quality, and wash well. But be aware that as the other reviews state, they will shrink a bit in the first wash, so buy a size larger than your normal size.

Other than that they are great, hard wearing and nice for covering up when you need to stay out of the sun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Damn good bag, its just not Neoprene, 1 Dec. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As stated its not neoprene as described (on the Belkin website they don't mention neoprene anywhere!) this isn't an essentially bad thing, just worth noting. The construction is they typical laptop bag affair: a tough Nylon skin over plenty of padding, its well constructed, and doed the job.

Also Belkin themselves describe this as suitable for a 10-12 inch netbook. An older chunky 12" netbook probably won't fit in here, but for a newer 10" netbook its a good fit.

In the main compartment theres plenty of room for the netbook, the paddings good, and gives you the feeling that your pride and joy will be well protected in there. Theres also room in there for other stuff like your netbooks mini-power brick, as well as a selection of divided pockets for things like your external hard drive and external DVD writer, plus the other bits you have to hand: like USB keys, Ipod, blank DVD's, mice etc etc.

Theres also a second compartment for your other things you may choose to carry, not sure what exactly, but its available. Theres pockets on top of pockets here, plenty of room for your netbook things, and more besides. Its a bit like a Man-Bag for geeks.

The price is good, PC World are currently selling: Belkin Neoprene Messenger Bag for Netbooks up to 12.1-Inch Jet/Cabernet Basicly the balck/red one of these bags for £30, so its a lot cheaper on Amazon. At the PC world price its a good price for the quality, but at Amazons price, its a steal!

1.0 out of 5 stars Proof that amazon should allow negative star ratings., 29 Nov. 2009
See the star ratings afforded by Amazon? THEY ARE WRONG

This film proves that there should at least be a "no star" or even a negative star rating for dross like this...

Save your money and buy the original. If you still feel compelled to see this steaming heap of a movie, then wait till it shows on one of the low budget freeview channels like Zone Horror, or Men and Motors, (I doubt this will ever make it to one of the bigger budget channels) that way you'll save the money, and confirm just how bad this film really is.

Why does hollywood allow Nick Cage and his obvious Hair peice to still make films?

4.0 out of 5 stars The (almost) complete Doctor Who DVD set, 27 Nov. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Its the adventures of the 9th and 10th Doctors, its already been on TV, so theres no need to cover old ground about the content, suffice to say if youre reading this, then you'll probably know how good the main content will be. For the price this is great, far cheaper than buying individual series boxes, so why loose a star?

Its advertised as being the complete Doctor Who's, but its not....

Good to know: Its not as big as the picture would lead you to believe. The box looks nice enough, and inside instead of the beautifully packed individual series sets most fans will be used to; there are some cheaper looking plasitc multi DVD cases. Theres a nice booklet with a run down of the various episodes. The set includes all series and specials and the associated Doctor Who Confidentials up to the end of series 4 (clues in the box set title here folks.) The 2009 / post series 4 trilogy of specials are not included.

So of the New Doctor Who stuff you'll just need to get the Planet of the dead/Waters of Mars/End of time specials (and Dreamland {if you really think it counts}) when/as they become available. So if youre looking for the entire stories of the 9th and 10th doctors then you'll probably not be dissapointed. But it would have made for a more complete story to include everything up to the hand over to the 11th Doctor. Sorry but this alone is enough to loose a star, and I'm being generous here! The BBC are releasing in spring 2010 the box set of all the new series specials: Doctor Who - The Complete Specials [DVD]. Why could the BBC not have waited a few months to include everything?

So if you're looking for the First 4 series of the new Doctors for a cheaper bulk price, then don't hesitate, buy it now!

Just remember in a year or two there will probably be a series 1 to 6 box set, then the anniversary series 1 to 9 box sets so the BBC can cash in some more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great upgrade for your laptop, 27 Nov. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My laptop was just comming up for its first birthday (however its still on sale in a well known PC based supermarket), and its 160Gb hard drive was getting full. Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Upgrade Edition for XP or Vista users (PC DVD) was also due out so a major upgrade was obviously needed to keep things running smoothely.

So the first step would be a bigger hard drive!

I chose this one on 2 things. Its price was good, and its from a well known hard drive maker, as opposed to some of the non-branded or rebranded models out there.

The drive arrived really well packed, and I set about popping my old drive out, and fitting this in. As the SATA specs make a set of standard sizes for connectors, mounting holes etc this was an easy swap.

So in use, how have i found it?

Its no different in terms of noise levels, though it does run a tad warmer than my old drive. Speed wise I can't really comment because its running Windows 7, as opposed to Vista, so it will seem quicker anyway. Day to day its stable, and have no problems with it.

All in all its a good make, for a good size, so I'd highly reccomend this if you want to move up from the tiny standard hard drive that came with your laptop.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than your avaerage skin, should include a screen protector..., 27 Nov. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I got this to protect my new iTouch, and for the back it does this remarkably well, its a lot thicker than most cheaper silicone skins. It fits well enough, and looks quite funky when fitted.

But only half of your iTouch is protected with this skin on. There should really be a screen protector included with this for all round protection (they cost less than a penny each when bought in bulk, so its hardly going to cut into the sellers profits by a huge margin). For this alone it lost a star.

The other point to note is when using a dock or cradle you may need to remove this skin to get your iTouch to fit, its quite a thick skin and adds a couple of mm all round the back and sides.

So all in all its a good skin, but needs that screen protector included to make it the complete protection package.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth it for the months free XBL, but nothing new., 27 Nov. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The games are nothing new, just the full versions of some of the demo arcade games you get on the console to begin with. After playing them each for a few minutes I've never gone back to them.

They are the kind of games that were popular 10 years ago, or maybe something you could let your younger kids play, and keep them safely away from XBL.

Other than that the only redeeming feature was the months free XBox Live subscription, and for a couple of quid its well worth it.

To sum up: If youre buying it for the games, you'll be dissapointed, If youre buying it for the XBox live, then its worth a punt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for securing QR wheels, 27 Nov. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I got this to go with a Master Cuff Street Cuff 1 Link To allow me to secure my front QR wheel. The reason I chose this cable over others is the eyes on the ends allow the cable to pass through and form a loop (see the picture) this means you can secure individual items like my front wheel to the lock you are using.

The cable is sturdy, and well made, and has a velcro tab to keep it together.

Its nice and thick and should deter opportunist theives, admittedly a determined theif will take your bike, regardless of how many locks you use. But in that case your bike will be gone regardless.

So as a deterent more than anything I give this a 5* rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great lock for a quick stop, 27 Nov. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This looks and works like a big set of handcuffs, the centre link rotates to adapt to all angles, and will go round any kind of post or frame tube up to 3" (75mm) diameter. One Cuff round your frame etc, the other on something sturdy like some railings, a bike rack or a signpost. The good part is they will fold in half to make them a small secure system of locking your prized posession.

The construction is strong and has a barrel lock thats harder to pick on both cuffs. But be aware that when you unlock a cuff, the centre of the lock pops out about 5-6mm and needs to be pressed back in when the cuff is closed for it to be locked (you dont close the cuffs and they auto lock like normal hand cuffs for people). Its easy to forget this the first time you use it and leave your bike unlocked.

This aside for a quick stop the cuffs have a rubberised coating so they don't scratch your bike frame, so you can easily go frame to the place you lock to. But if you like me have QR wheels, then the best solution I have found for a longer stop is to go from the back wheel through the rear triangle formed by the seat stay and chain stay so your back wheel cant get nicked. Then use a cable to secure the front wheel, I chose an Onguard Akita Extender Cable 120 cm X 10 mm which allows the cable to pass through its own eye, and secure the front wheel. By feeding through the frame and onto the street cuff you can lock your bike to larger items that the street cuffs can't go on like trees or small children.

To sum up its a sturdy piece of kit, and a great way of locking for a quick stop. However If you've got QR wheels/seat then you will need to get extra precautions like a cable to fully secure your bike for a longer stay.

Its worth noting there is a specific bracket to hold this that attaches on your water bottle cage mounts Master Lock Street Cuff Bracket but it is a little pricey for what it is.
