5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastically imagined world, 5 Jun. 2016

I actually came to Cormac Mccarthy's ' The Road ' after watching the film that was based on the book. Also I'm a big fan of the post apocalyptic setting.

The environment this book creates is fantastic. The bleakness if the world literally coming off the pages and it's easy to find yourself there. It's also easy to get drawn into the depression of it all and the hopeless situation encountered by the characters rubs off on the reader. It's tough going sometimes, but it's not without a sense of hope. The relationship between man and boy is amazingly done and considering the lack of any other characters ( apart from a few brief meetings ) it's credit to the writer to keep the whole thing interesting.

It's a fantastic journey through a bleak well imagined world. Although maybe not the happiest of tales it's a fascinating insight into a fathers love and determination to do whatever it takes to give his child some kind of life no matter how poverished. I will definitely seek out other titles by the author.

I held off on these for a while as I feared it would be a cash grab milking on the popularity of elder scrolls. How wrong was I. As all the other reviews describe the quality is brilliant and although the content is taken directly from in game books it's nice to have it all in one compendium along with some kick ass artwork. I will definitely be ordering more after I've saved some money but any elder scrolls fan interested in the rich lore of the series will enjoy these.

Very unique and awesome design, both on front and back. Good material (not too thin) and the design itself seems like it will last through washing. Will definitely be ordering more :)

Quick delivery, with unexpected update from seller regarding status. All in all I believe I had received it within 2 working days.
The product is a good size and of a good quality. The picture doesn't really do justice here as to just how clear the writing is. The free chain is a bonus also as it's a good length for those who prefer the longer hang.
All in all would definitely recommend product and seller. Thankyou.

3.0 out of 5 stars IT'S LIKE HAVING YOUR SAT NAV MALFUNCTION HALF WAY INTO A LONG JOURNEY - WHAT STARTED OFF WELL LEAVES YOU FEELING LOST, 22 July 2014
This review is from: Dead Mine (Amazon Video)
It's pleasing to see a relatively modest budget has wen't into this title, as it doesn't really come across as a cheap 'B movie'. Even the majority of the acting holds up quite well and it's not as difficult to watch as other bargain bin horrors.

The story is mostly recycled plot elements from other similar types of survival horror. I see a lot of the other reviews have mentioned similarities with the Descent and rightly so it is the same kind of 'down the scary rabbit hole' idea.

Although the story starts off in a clear direction and has all the traditional horror character archetypes ( spoiled brat, the rogue trying to redeem himself, the bad ass etc etc ) it loses it's way about half way through and leaves more questions than answers.

If your wanting to watch a well written, thought provoking film that ties up all loose ends before the final credits roll then this isn't it.

However, if your wanting an easy to watch popcorn flick with a bit of gore thrown in then you can't really go far wrong, as the film does a lot of things right. But unfortunately, the plot just fizzles out too much towards the end to make it anything more than that.

Overall,

Good fun!

Been meaning to watch this for a while now and rented it from amazon instant last night for me and my girlfriend to watch.

It's a typical 'guilty pleasure' movie that isn't going to win any Oscars, but the story is solid enough to keep you interested and Trejo plays the title 'bad ass' character with a surprisingly human element that has you sympathising with Vietnam VETS, which you don't really expect from a popcorn flick.

The action scenes are good, and Trejo is in his usual ass kicking tequila drinking element with what seems like a good production budget as the scenes manage to avoid b movie cheesiness.

All in all - a good watch!

Avoid if you hate: tongue in cheek action

Watch of you like: machete, Danny Trejo

1.0 out of 5 stars More HomeHub problems ( similar issues in below reviews ), 13 Sept. 2013

I am SO disappointed. There seems to be plenty of positive reviews for this product hence why I bit the bullet and thought I would try it out.

Delivery from Amazon was fast as usual - and out the box the product seems simple enough, although the instructions are pretty long winded.

Set up (at first) seemed great, I used the 'Iphone method' as suggested in previous reviews ( plug in repeater, search for repeater via iphone wifi, connect to repeater via iphone wifi, open browser, select your router, input key - done! ) which at first seemed to work like a charm. Light changed to green, I moved it to another room, plugged in and ....... problems started.

Firstly - the signal was NOT IMPROVED in any way whatsoever

Secondly - My PS3 does not play nice with this device, it just would not work at all

So, I decided to try a different tact, on of the other reviewers ( who also had a HomeHub ) suggested changing the products IP address, which I did. So I logged onto the devices admin page, changed the IP address ( it was the same as the Home Hubs ), re connected to my own Hub, light turns green again .... maybe it will work this time?

No. Just no.

I spent a good few hours tinkering about with different settings, trawling the internet for tips, trying certain things twice just on the off chance it would work, but to no avail.

With this product your taking a gamble. There is a 50/50 chance it will work for you. Personally, I recommend you seriously consider spending your hard earned cash on another product with slightly more favourable reviews - DISAPPOINTED.
