5.0 out of 5 stars Superb Debut, 9 Feb. 2007
This review is from: Narcissus Road (Audio CD)
I trawl the web for new bands on a daily basis and came across The Hours. Well what a great find. The Cd arrived today from Amazon and it has to be the Album of the year already in my view. Antony Genn's vocals are fantastic throughout the whole Album. So far the stand out track has to be (in my humble opinion) Back When You Were Good. Superbly atmospheric with a great string section. They have a great sound and no one track is similar to the other. It is broody, powerful and a definate must have for anyone who loves music. It is overall a well produced piece of craftmanship. Good luck guys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Playing the Emotions, 17 Oct. 2005
As a huge fan of Depeche Mode I waited with great anticipation for the release of Playing the Angel. And was it worth the wait you ask.........oh yeah! Wow....from the start of "A Pain that I`m Used to" til the finale of "The Darkest Star" I was taken into the world of Gore and Gahan. There are some slow tempo tracks such as "I want It All" but they are still very moving. The footnote at the base of the cover says it all "Pain and Suffering in various Tempos!" well thats exactly what this album is. Stand out tracks are "Suffer Well" penned by Gahan, "A Pain that I`m used to" "Nothings Impossible" another Gahan piece, and "Lilian". They are and will always be the best kept secret we have in this country. About time they had respect shown to them. This could be the album that gives them this respect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Depeche Mode " Some Great Reward", 26 Sept. 2004

Another great album by the ever brilliant Mode. No fear at all in using technology regardless of how technical or simplistic.
Gore again outstanding with his songwriting abilities, Gahan as always superb in putting the feeling into each track as required.
Just excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Martin Lee Gore, 26 Sept. 2004
This review is from: Counterfeit e.p (Audio CD)
This piece of music is from a genius at his best! Martin Gore is without doubt the most under-rated songwriter ever. But here he revamps some of his favorite tracks by other songwriters. Beautifully reconstructed, masterfully sung and put together like a jigsaw....each track superb.
