Hendrix was the best.
This album is unbelievable value and it's a masterpiece.
Even after all this time no-one can do it better.

5.0 out of 5 stars not the earliest Dream but good stuff, 30 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I took me back to the early(ish) days--- but then I do have "Zeit" on vinyl!
I saw them in Leicester in the 70s.
It's as fresh as ever and still as entrancing.
This was the start of another music revolution.
(If you like this, try Faust, Can and Amon Duul II too)

5.0 out of 5 stars Bargain Tull, 30 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: 5 Album Set (Audio CD)
I liked Tull back in the day but could not resist this mix of albums I had on vinyl and those I did not have.
Well, I met up with old friends and made new ones because I love the albums I did not have before.
I love the mix of folk and rock in particular nowadays- perhaps it's my age.
Highly recommended to renew old acquaintances or to discover some great music for the first time.

AUJOURD'HUI, MEURSAULT EST MORT: Dialogue avec Albert Camus (French Edition)

but in an unusual conversation with the man himself.
You may not agree with the all of the interpretation of Camus' attitudes but it certainly encouraged me to re-read his works.
I highly recommend this to anyone who has an interest in this greatest of French authors.
(For me, he beats Sartre every time)

I bought this for my son and he bought it for his friend so I think it's a favourite! If they like the 19th century then it's a sure bet.

Brain Salad Surgery
Brain Salad Surgery

5.0 out of 5 stars Get it or regret it !, 30 Dec. 2013
This review is from: Brain Salad Surgery (MP3 Download)
I'd not listened to this for a long, long time but when I saw it I could not resist it.
It is still magnificent and don't forget there's "Jerusalem" and "Still you turn me on".
You need this for your collection of 70's (prog)rock.

Don't Be a Hero: A Superhero Novel
Don't Be a Hero: A Superhero Novel
Price: £3.20

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent !, 1 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I grew up with superhero comics and I chose this book because of the title and sub-title.
I was gripped by the story and the characters. I could not put it down.
Some of the action was a little difficult to read for someone of my sensitive disposition because it is so well written and because I became involved with the characters, but I really enjoyed the story.
I even prefer this novel to the graphic novel "The Watchmen".
I highly recommend this novel.

Bored of the Rings: A Parody
Bored of the Rings: A Parody
by Henry Beard
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant brilliant brilliant!, 8 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you know and love the Lord of the rings then you've got to read this. I first read it in the 1970s. A gentle (well reasonably gentle) parody. My son and I quote bits to each other so you can see how sad we are.

This is excellent. Gripping story and at times impossible to put down. I have read another 2 in the series and intend to read more.
Highly recommended especially if you like to live the life. You feel that you're there on board fighting the fight!
