Colombe:Concerts a Deux Violes Tome
Colombe:Concerts a Deux Violes Tome

5.0 out of 5 stars A marvellous contemplative disc, 6 May 2006
This is truly beautiful playing by two of the world's leading gambists, in total harmony. Music of the stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unsurpassed accounts of Bach's masterpieces, 6 May 2006
Once your ear adjust to the somewhat superficial sound, this is the version of Bach's 48 to have. Individual pieces may have received more beautiful or brilliant performances, but nobody can match Richter for the cummulative effect of his reading. In some pieces, like the transcendental b-minor from the first book, he creates a sound world that appears at once distant and all-engulfing. Utterly compelling

Carlo Bergonzi - The Sublime Voice

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most scintillating tenor recitals, 6 May 2006
Two an a half hours of tenor singing may sound like a bad idea for one's health. But two and a half hours with Bergonzi fly by. This is Italian tenor singing at ts best, devoid of false sentimentality and full of true sentiment. Bergonzi's voice may lack something in what the Italians call squillo, the brazen trumpet-like sound of somebody like Franco Corelli, but it it is full of morbidezza - the languorous sweetness - that sets him apart from nearly all others. A great collection.
