Price: £9.09

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice!, 25 Aug. 2016

Very little things written in this time period in the Star Wars universe (Between Episode 1 and 2) so it was really interesting to see Anakin's training. You also get to see a bit of Coruscant darker side!

Didn't grip me as much as the first one but still a great insight into Kanan's backstory :)

5.0 out of 5 stars First comic and loved it!, 7 Aug. 2016

I don't normally read comics but I'm pretty into Star Wars at the moment and this really grabbed my attention. Great little flashes between the sort of Rebels time frame and Kanan as a teenager.

It was clear a lot of research had gone into this book to make it an authentic war story! If you're looking for a fast paced romance (with LOTS of sex) grab a copy of this. Some sex scenes were not there for pleasure and were clearly written to shock the reader and give them a true sense of some of the terrible things that likely happened in POW camps. Clark has written a hard hitting and daring story but at the same time managed to give the reader an uplifting feeling throughout.

Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens Lost Stars
Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens Lost Stars

Edition: Hardcover

4.0 out of 5 stars Different to other Star Wars books, 1 Mar. 2016

Had a different feel to any other Star Wars novel that I've read before. Definitely fits into the YA sort of genre with the main characters being young people and with reference to sex etc.

Nice little links throughout to the main saga however not a huge amount taking place after the Battle of Endor. It maybe gives you a little insight into the Battle of Jakku and a bit about how the Empire continued after Return of the Jedi but if you're looking for a lot of background to the journey towards the Force Awakens..there's not much in there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unexpected treat!, 19 Aug. 2015

Didn't know what to expect with this one. I watched the video trailer and it grabbed me. Started reading and was sucked in from the first line of the prologue and it didn't let go until the very end. I got through it ridiculously quick! It's shocking in an exciting way. It's disgusting in an eye-opening way. It makes you rethink a lot of things.

Aside from the background ideas, the characters were vivid and had fantastic quirky imperfections. The world felt real and is similar to our own but completely different at the same time.

I had no idea of the setting and found it hard to place this book in either fantasy or science fiction. I feel it beautify crosses the two.
Read the author's note at the start - I found this quite helpful in explaining some of the quirks of the book. The ending satisfied me but also left me hanging, screaming 'TELL ME MORE!' Can't wait for book 2!
