5.0 out of 5 stars A great read that allows you to escape into the intriquing world of counter terrorosim., 5 July 2014

A great read, easy to visualise, racing pace, separate storylines that fit together neatly, in depth research, demonstration of innovative investigating, attention grabbing, worthy of a second read and tailor made for the big screen.

When the book started I thought it was a little clichéd in places but it quickly developed its characters and the clichés began to make sense. However the sense made of the cliché characters is based on the human tendency to stereotype (whether we know we are doing it or not) and it would have been nice to deliberately 'buck the trend' to stereotype. I'm being picky I know and the reason for that is because the book is so good I'm looking for faults and they are difficult to find.

Its a book for escapism and if that what your looking for, here it is.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible After Sales Service, 29 May 2014

The product maybe okay, don't know because I haven't had it long even though it was ordered a month ago. The item did not arrive when expected, so I emailed them. They asked me for more details which I supplied, then I heard nothing else for four weeks even though I kept emailing, they just wouldn't respond. In the end I had to involve Amazon and I only received my goods after Amazons involvement. How could I recommend this company after that experience.

The hit released singles are great and the reason for the purchase. The rest of the album is not bad, but it is one of those albums that grows on you. We played it a few times now and getting used to it, but for us there were no instant 'wows'. If I were writing this review a few months in the future it maybe more positive but the fact I say it's okay after only three weeks is no bad thing. We would never say 'don't buy it', it is definitely worth a punt if you like their releases.

It's difficult to pigeon hole what actually is R & B nowadays, because so many genres have stolen the title. However, Bill Wyman demonstrates what he thinks R & B is with this album and this can especially be appreciated if you're a musician or an avid music fan.

Great idea. Being able to email the voucher makes life so much easier and let's face it, that's what we seek in the 21st century. Okay gift vouchers may lack imagination and do not demonstrate deep thought however it makes perfect sense and Mr Spock would find it very logical.

This item seems to be the best I have ever bought. Early days because I have only used one, but it feels good and the bristles seem to be lasting longer Han usual. I have also noticed that the bristles do not seem to be bending s quickly as usual. There's only so much you can say about an electric tooth brush head and I think I've said it.

3.0 out of 5 stars A fairly good read but............, 24 Aug. 2013

My 'but' (that's but not butt) in the heading is there because of the annoyingly cliched love angle in this story. Why do heroes always meet the most stunning person of the opposite sex, who incidentally always finds our main character equally stunning and within a chapter they're in bed making the widest passionate love that can be imagined. The perfect and in reality rarest of sexual relationships in this book spoilt it for me. If there is going to be relationship make it real, in the largest proportions of relationships there are ups and downs ie one party will recognise an annoying trait in the other, so why do authors avoid this?
The story kept you interested but the evil extent of the lord of the realm (i.e. the baddie) may have been better suited to a 'Bond Villain', so again a little bit unreal but he was insane so arguably would be capable of anything.
To demonstrate the difference in level of authorship, the prologue at the end which introduces the next instalment is much better written and does its job, it makes you want to read the next book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Okay But..........., 30 July 2013

First the positives:- This book can be read fairly quickly and not difficult to follow. There is a flow and the whole tenet of our other lives being identified by the eyes is interesting. When the book starts I liked the main character enough to be willing to meet him for a pint. Now the areas where I believe the book lost its way. The book begins to falter when we come across the love interest. The whole relationship between these two main characters is completely unreal and better placed in a soft porn film. I don't say that because it is inappropriately graphic but it is unnatural in the way they feel about each other (and behave) in such a short space of time and actually they behave like adolescents who have just discovered that they each have different genitals. Also why do we have to have a conventional love interest, it is boring. Then the question I am still asking myself, why does a friendly, funny granny suddenly become a homicidal sadist at the end of the book, what's that about?
In summary the book was a good idea spoilt by predictable clichéd actions and characters, apart from granny Flora that is, I'm still bemused by that one. I was also surprised that the love interest didn't turn out to be the evil master mind at the end but that was it. Yet I still kept reading because there was something in the story. I would not say don't read it but the next book (sequel) should be better because the mistakes should all have been made in this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars A progressively good read, 7 July 2013

If I could have given three & half stars I would have done and I'm fairly strict. When I started this book I thought it was slightly cliched and appeared to be written by an inexperienced author. Two things kept me going at the early stages and there was a third reason by the time I was halfway through. The first two reasons were the subject matter i.e. telekinesis and the progressive but subtle style changes in writing i.e. it got better. By the time I was halfway through the book the author had me hooked in relation to both the storyline and the characters. Interestingly I was also able to read deeper into the storyline and equate it with many aspects of human nature, prejudice, arrogance and ignorance. It did what good a book should do i.e. tell a good story, sell the personalities and make you think beyond both. Yes I know I use i.e. a lot, but its because I like to explain myself. Well done Ethan Spier, I will read another.
