Are you two... together?
VAN GELDER & BRANDT. Lindsey & Pamela Robin,

A Gay and Lesbian Guide to Europe (Travel).

Fourteen destinations, among them Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, and Venice, of special interests to lesbian and gay men, are engagingly and wittily explored in Are you two... Together?

A marvelous mix of historical details, anecdote, practical information, maps and recommendations of sights, hotels, restaurants, bars and discos, and what to read.

You won't discover the opening times of the Louvre, but will get a taste of the Paris salon of Getrude Stein (tea the strongest drink) and Natalie Barney (Mata Hari once rode in nude on a white horse), the dream castles of Bavaria, and their creator King Ludwig, defended against a charge of wickedness on the grounds that 'he never accompanied his soldiers, apart from on the piano'!

Everyday Matters 2 - Sheba Feminist Publishers (Synopsis)

More short stories by women.

These new stories from women are told to us through voices we all recognise. Sometimes they sound comforting and familiar, often they startle and surprise.

The women who emerge come from different backgrounds, vary in age and, for the first time in a collection from this country, include black women who compellingly record their lives.

Through encounters, letters, observations... these stories show women shaping their own future - with all the determination, occasional bleakness, anger and wit that votage encompasses.

4.0 out of 5 stars Spare Rib Reader - 100 Issues of Women's Liberation, 23 Feb. 2012
-----------------------------------

Spare Rib Reader

100 Issues of Women's Liberation - A Celebration of 10 Years of Spare Rib.

Edited by Marsha Rowe.

The best from 77 copies of Spare Rib Mag dating from the first in 1972.

`Spare Rib', one of the most prominent feminist magazines that emerged at the time was launched in June 1972 in Britain. It was not received well by all and WH Smith was only one of newsagents who refused to stock the magazine on its shelves.

Despite such obstacles the first issue of `Spare Rib' sold out and after this a small but respectable circulation of around 20,000 copies per month was maintained. However, such magazines were often passed around at feminist meetings or in one of the `floating library' systems of exchanging literature that was established in cities such as Bristol. This was partially due to the fear of some women of the reaction of their husbands if such a magazine was delivered to or found in the home. In addition, many women did not have the financial independence to purchase such a magazine.

MAKING OUT.
The Book of Lesbian Sex and Sexuality.

After centuries of being an invisible or despised identity, lesbianism, so some would have us believe, is suddenly 'chic'.

But behind this new profile lurk the same old tired stereotypes about lesbians and about lesbian sex. Making Out, the first ever fully illustrated guide to lesbian sexuality, changes all that by looking at realities of lesbian sexual experience.

Illustrated guide to lesbian sexuality.

Four written sections - The Body, Sex Gear, Sex Acts and The Sexual Imagination, with alphabetical entries and erotica photographs, which include 5 fantasy narratives, each a story in themselves.

Photographs by Laurence Jaugey-Paget. Large A4
