My third time of reading this amazingly crafted book. A master of written English. So sad that Wallace Breem only wrote three historical novels - aspiring novelists of Roman history fiction, please note, read it and learn how it's done!

With all the electric/battery sharpeners on the market, nothing sharpens better if you want a really sharp point, than these simple hand operated sharpeners....save your money, artists! Simple is best!

A good read, lots of action as with all of Scarrow's Cato and Macro novels. His knowledge of Roman history makes his adventures of the two heroes all the more enjoyable.

Badly written and historically inaccurate. Officers of the HEIC were not allowed to marry until they were 32 years old or so, and it is highly unlikely that a 19 year old would have taken up his posting as a married man! The author's command of the English language is rather sad. Not recommended to those who enjoy well-written historical novels.
