An eye opener, 14 July 2013
An apple a day was recommended to me by my mum however it took a while for me to contemplate any idea of recovery and therefore it took a while for me to feel ready to read this book. However after a restless night sleep i picked up An apple a day at 6 AM and could not put it down! it took me a total of 4 hours to read which is a record for someone who takes years to finish a book.
Even though i'm only 18, Emma's story and incredible descriptions of Anorexia were relatable and inspirational! It has opened my eyes up to the future which can be hard to consider when suffering from Anorexia. I was shocked at how emotionally attached i got to Emma and Tom and their struggle for a baby and felt so involved in their story.
Emma has not only been brave enough to open a can of worms by writing An apple a day but has written it so beautifully to share the difficulties with sufferers, their relatives as well as curious others.
A magnificent book, I highly recommend to all!
