Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Rather disappointing in the plot and in the lack of interactions of the Brunetti family.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful Starter, 11 Dec. 2010
Recommended by fellow beginner. Lives up to its title, easy to use. I use it along with class material and find this book reinforces what's covered in lessons. The CD is very useful for pronunciation practice and recognition. Only criticism is that the vocabulary list at the back of the book is alphabetically listed by English word when I am often looking for the meaning of a pinyin word or phrase. I have invested in a dictionnary which solves this problem. The book is easy peasy for the learner to use but I doubt if anything will make the language so.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fishplates and Frogs by Mag Cummings, 1 May 2008
This review is from: Fishplates and Frogs (Paperback)
This is a very enjoyable read about families connected with the railways in the west of Scotland and takes place during the Beeching era of railway closures. This provides a backdrop to the lives of the characters and their dramas of wife beating and railway deaths. It's well written and a first book which bodes well for the next from this author.
