5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful, 9 Oct. 2009
These recordings, pre-WW 2, are exceptional in their technical interpretation of a wonderfully moving piece of music.

The flawed crackles in the production adds to a sense of atmosphere in my view. To be listened to with a good set of headphones or quality speakers, with eyes shut and mind open.

5.0 out of 5 stars very moving, 28 Sept. 2009
A typical Uchida performance. Moving, passionate in my view an amazing interpretation of a wonderful piece of music.

For those not familiar with the works of Schubert this is a truly wonderful starting point.

Simply beautiful

5.0 out of 5 stars a cellarful of motown, 3 July 2002
This review is from: A Cellarful Of Motown! (Audio CD)
stormin,great,soulful,melodic,dancers.......basically everything you want in afantastic soul album.these tunes are all wonders.as soon as you've heard the highly infectious dancer baby a go-go from the wonderful barbara mcnair, you know you're on a winner.chris clarks take on frank wilsons "do i love you" is a belter too.my own personal favourite is gladys knights"if you ever get your hands on love".this is a real stormer sure to shake up any northern dance floor.another gladys tune gets its second outing having already been released on another must have motown compilation"connoisseurs".this being the slow builder"here are the pieces of my broken heart" on disc two.there are a few average tunes but the true soul fan will love this album.it gives me"goosepimples" just thinkin about it!a MUST for all northern fans.KEEP THE FAITH!!
