Big Frog
by Rob Badcock
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, 29 Dec. 2011
This review is from: Big Frog (Hardcover)
An exciting read into a post apocalyptic world, the remains of the earth ravaged by global warming has bad it dangerous and the animals and fauna turn wilder. While most of the population have evacuated the earth to a new planet, some still remain in safe domes.

Rib, the protagonist is a character that seems to go from one trouble to the next! You cannot help but read on how he will cope with the challenges he faces on bringing the stolen lotto money to his mother in MK. The author writes a wonderfully creative new world that is exciting, even some parts can still be recognisable if your from the Cambridge or Milton Keynes area! The characters a memorable and interesting individually, it's hard not to want to know more about them. I look forward to the next instalment as Rib's journey appears to be far from over!

5.0 out of 5 stars iGenious, 31 July 2010
This review is from: iBoy (Paperback)
iBoy, a far fetched idea of an iPhone's broken fragments in a 16 year old boys brain allowing him to have powers. Where can I get one of these? Brooks writes a truely fantastic story of violence, friendship and identity confusion. The utterly unrealistic idea of iPhone powers is made believable by Brook's style of writing, he details the setting and character preformances very realisticly. The main character Tom is very easy to relate to on many levels including his decisions on using his abilities and the extent of them. I honestly believe this is a book you'll finish in a day because you can't get enough of it. Parents be wary though, this book is not for younger teens with details of rape, murder, gang warfare etc filling the plot.
