Bialetti Tuttocrema Milk Frother
Bialetti Tuttocrema Milk Frother
Price: £23.00

5.0 out of 5 stars Better frothing and way stronger than glass frothers, 8 Oct. 2014
I've gone through about 6 glass frothers over the years, all eventually cracking/smashing, but this one is a cut above. Unbreakable metal jug with double-frother plunger, non-stick interior and even heats directly on the stove. Frothing is fast and very effective. The only slight drawback is there is no measuring marks on it so it's a bit more guesswork on quantities than the glass versions. But robustness makes up for that. Highly recommend this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works fine, but inferior cable-loading, 30 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this to replace the original line-trimmer bought as a complete unit. The cable-insertion on this one is super-fiddly compared with the really straightforward feed-in method on the old unit, but luckily I could just take that unit off the old trimmer and attach it to this one.

Would be annoying if I hadn't been able to do that. Shame Ryobi have taken such a step backwards with the design.

4.0 out of 5 stars Plenty of soakage for the money, 30 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Wanted a water-gun that really hosed out a gush of water, and this does the job. You pretty much have to refill it straight away, but it's so much more of a water-dump than the more "gun-style" options from Nerf, etc.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good length, solid construction, works with iOS7, 30 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This looks like a solidly constructed cable, and is a good length compared with the too-short Apple-supplied one.

I bought this because iOS7 invalidated usage of an earlier third-party cable. Happy to report that this one works fine (tested on iPhone 5 with iOS7).

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing quality, 30 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I expected this to be a fairly robust tripod, but even at this price it's disappointing. The ball/socket joints just pop apart when stressed, so aside from using it as a plain tripod it's pretty pointless. Ho hum.

2.0 out of 5 stars Massively, epically over-rated, 9 May 2011
This review is from: Goblin (Audio CD)
I don't know which is more depressing: that such unpleasantness is pushing into the mainstream; that Tyler is allowed to get away with "I am only joking, I only say this stuff because it makes me laugh" (yeah, right... course it does mate); or that music journalists are anointing this empty, emotionless void as this week's "voice of a generation bubbling up from the ghetto".

I'm all for ugly, unpleasant and confrontational music, but I don't see how this transgresses anything at all: it's deeply comfortable and relaxed in its environment, just a frightful building in an already hideous neighbourhood and just endlessly repeats "Aren't I marvellous? And aren't women perfectly dreadful?". I don't think this is an artist who has anything to say, and yet seems proud of it - so one ends up feeling conned, and for good reason.

But the music press adores it. Are they just so impressed by a black man who is not recycling other people's work? Do they want to join his gang, like the cool kids? I think there is something patronising and racist in championing a black artist simply for "not using samples", as if that's a special pat on the head that welcomes them into the awful world of Eric Clapton.

Then again, maybe this stuff is not really aimed at middle-aged English white guys who live in country houses, so who am I to criticise, right? (Hey, I did once drive through south-central LA! But that was by accident.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well at a good price, may need to remove bumper on iPhone 4, 7 Aug. 2010
This charger works pretty well and is very simple. It is a little larger (but much cheaper) than its direct competitor the Dexim S5. One issue, though: if your iPhone 4 has an Apple Bumper case on it (which will be very common to combat iPhone 4 aerial problems), then this charger does not fit deeply enough into the iPhone socket to deliver its charge; you need to remove the bumper first. But as this charger won't be used very often - it's really an emergency backup - this isn't much of a hardship. (Incidentally, the Dexim S5 has the same problem.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for iPhone 3, need to remove bumper for iPhone 4, 3 Aug. 2010
I've been using this for months on an iPhone 3, and it's a great little life-saver, quickly adding a single battery top-up in a small package.

It works fine on the iPhone 4, too - although at first I thought it did not. Turns out you need to remove the Apple Bumper (i.e. the now-free case you probably have to combat iPhone 4 aerial problems) in order for the S5 to make its connection, then it will charge fine.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bit of a dud compared with earlier work, 24 Mar. 2010
This review is from: Head First (Audio CD)
I've listened to this six times now, and can't help thinking it's a dud. There seems to be a real lack of energy, and it's not compensated for by lyrical invention or depth of emotion.

There is one stand-out track in "Voicething" where I really feel I'm listening to something new, but the rest is inconsequential. Such a shame, because Goldfrapp have the track record of an inventive, exciting band who really stretch things, but this is not up to the standard of any of their earlier albums.

Maybe live, with the pulse of synths turned right up, it will work; but on disc it's pretty flat. Depressing, because I LOVE Goldfrapp! Hope Alison gets her mojo back for the next one!

1.0 out of 5 stars Flat, 13 Feb. 2010
Rather a flat, dull and repetitive read I'm afraid.

In prose, the author displays all the priggish sanctimoniousness, shallow insight and lack of humour that have characterised his reviewing career and laughable presence as a "telly star". A complete second-rater. Avoid.
