Push the Ghosts / Drinking In L.A.
Offered by actionrecords
Price: £2.00

5.0 out of 5 stars Another classic...., 17 Nov. 2007
The latest and final single from the debut album sees The Twang in fine form..vocalist Phil is assisted by the bassline from "Push It"..."I've got the devil in me and he's pointing to the big time" he bellows...says more about the damaged X-Factor pysche of Modern Britain than an omnibus of Jeremy Kyle ever did...

5.0 out of 5 stars Staines goes motown...., 17 Nov. 2007
Richard Archer was apparently wary of putting this on the second album but this is up there with Living For The Weekend & Hard To Beat...Brassy & Belligerent the Staines band come across all Motown with the usual trash can lyrics but hey its one of THE pop songs and who cares when you will be joining in on the Saturday night singalongs...

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Collaboration...., 17 Nov. 2007
This is a very brilliant collaboration that should rightfully get the Gallows into the minds and hearts of the nation. The Gallows have taken the urgency of the Ruts original and added further tension and anger. And then there is Lethal Bizzle's appearance...His cameo maybe a short one but its still perfectly formed and fitting...All in all they have managed to pull it off...

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Happy Hour Again (sic)!!!, 10 Oct. 2007
This review is from: Matinee (Ltd Edition) (Audio CD)
After the success of the previous singles and various festivals Mr Penate finally unleashes his album onto us - now I wasnt looking for Housemartins comparisons but several reviewers have made that but I can't see it myself as they were a foursome and Jack is well Jack at the end of the day - a one off like Kate Nash...Trust me buy this album as it going to be in most Top 10 end of year lists..u will not be disappointed!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Stop Movin...., 8 Oct. 2007
This review is from: Can't Stop Moving (Audio CD)
This is one of those tracks which you hear on the radio - a bit like Calvin Harris and it sounds like something else and something else...and you think its by Fatboy Slim but apparently, its the result of a studio jam from his normal day job so maybe if there is an album to follow then it could be an instant classic...Recommended purchase...

5.0 out of 5 stars Where have you been??, 8 Oct. 2007
This review is from: Tick Tick Boom (Audio CD)
The Hives are one of those bands that disappear for a couple of years and then come back with a track which easily fits into the current crop...Their last CD wasn't that great but when your back catalogue includes "Hate..." etc then you will be struggling to match the heights of that tune but this track is a beast and shows progression musically. Also, I need to point out that their attire has changed as well but not in the black & white sense!!

5.0 out of 5 stars ELO, ELO, ELO...what 's all this then???, 8 Oct. 2007
This review is from: Goodbye Mr A (Audio CD)
The Hoosiers are one of those bands like The Feeling that have stuck their thumb into the 1970's music pie and pulled out a ELO hook which I think is lifted from Mr Blue Sky but then again there are no writing credits for ELO which is a mystery considering its a blatant lift of the old tune...All that besides this is a top track as it will burrow it deep inside your head and you will be humming this for weeks on end...

5.0 out of 5 stars Talkin' bout a classic..., 8 Oct. 2007
This review is from: Give Me One Reason (Audio CD)
Okay, this CD includes 3 classic Tracy Chapman tracks...Fast Car, Talkin Bout A Revolution and All That You Is Your Soul but the title track should also fall into the category of "classic" - however, pretty much like Alanis Morrissette, Chapman sold a trillion copies of her debut lp and has struggled to match that commercial success but Chapman is so effortless at her craft that you as a listener should give this other stuff a listen rather than just Fast Car...

5.0 out of 5 stars For the true PSB fans..., 8 Oct. 2007
This review is from: Disco 4 (Audio CD)
Okay, so I have read the previous comments and have to agree that this is a brilliant idea by the PSB's to put out a remix album of the tunes that they have been given by other artists. And when you listen to it you can see why they are one of the most under-rated artists of the last 25 years...Apart from superstar DJs how many artists have remixed Madonna, David Bowie AND Rammstein??? No I don't see Erasure here either...So do purchase if you are a true PSB fan - if not then WHY not?? The only minus point is the missing PSB remix of the Blur track "Girls & Boys"...

Dear oh dear...okay, so Chico is on the "comeback trail"!!!, obviously, there wasn't a shopping centre to open on this day so off to the recording studio to record this piece of utterly forgettable pap which namechecks J-lo, Beyonce, Shakira so I can imagine their lawyers will be in touch soon as I doubt they will want to be associated with such a piece of drivel...Honestly, its an insult to call it "music" as I think even my 8 year old niece would be embarassed about buying this...Come on Chico get a proper job like the rest of us...
