5.0 out of 5 stars Excellence through simplicity!!, 28 Aug. 2010
I honestly cant recommend this book enough! As a freelance design professional and lecturer in design, i can see no end to the potential value of this book!
David Airey has put together an invaluable insight into his process that underlines the importance of generating ideas and the questions you should be asking your clients and yourself during any design project. Yes it is specifically geared towards log/branding but the informtaion here applies to any field of design, the process remains the same.
You'l find case studies of sucessful logos and branding solutions, informative and inspiring approache, techniques and and questions that will forever enhance how you apporach your work!....and very very simply explained. Great work David!
A must buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars quite simply the best pick ever made, 28 Aug. 2010
As a bassist for years i have been hunting down that elusive ideal personal tone. I swapped from using my fingers to a pick a few years ago as i wanted a little more puinch and attack...i came across the ultex picks an wont use anything else...EVER AGAIN.
These things are pretty much indestrucable and the size makes them very practical especially during a gig when your hands are sweating..there's plenty to grip onto...and because of the identical 3 playing sides, if it does start to slip all you need to do is spin it round to the next playing edge and away you go!!
Superior tone, design, playability and durability!!
job well done lop :P

5.0 out of 5 stars I deep insight into many aspect of typography, 28 Aug. 2010
I have to admit this book surpassed my expectations. Delving into everything from the construciton of single typographical characters and their components, through informative examples and analysis of the effect and importance oftracking, weight, leading through to type families, paragraphing, experimental tyography this book has it all. As a freelance designer and lecturer in graphic design i would highly recommend this book to all students studying graphic design and any professional that enjoys working with type. A very handy and vast resource!
infact don't even read about this book, just buy it...worth its weight in plutonium!!

3.0 out of 5 stars compact and very useful, 12 Jan. 2010
i actually had no reason to buy this, but as an artist i figured this mught open up
new evenues and perspectives on shapes of eveyday things!!!definitely was right!!
obviously for this price you'r not gonna be able to ce the nucleus of cells but for
getting fantastic closeups of insects, plants and anything you can imagine this is
a very fun and interesting piece of kit. Three stars only simply because of the shipping
cost, id advicse anyone buyin ti to contact the seller and ask for a price. One of those
situations where they have been advised by amazon to use a standard price for postage of
all items....which makes the postage on this little thing fairly expensive!!
worth checkin out....apart from that if you want to get 60-100x perspective on everyday things for
a unique view...this really is a handy job!!
