After a few chapters I thought this book wasn't for me - aliens isn't a story line I usually enjoy b it I kept on reading. Whilst the story talks of aliens the message is about belief. A belief so strong it's all encompassing . Interesting read with a story of love intertwined

4.0 out of 5 stars Short and snappy, 30 Dec. 2012
Good read enough to get your interest and gives a chronological account of a landmark period in history. Lacks detail and leaves you wanting to know more but for a grasp on events in an hour it certainly does the trick

5.0 out of 5 stars Warts and All - an honest reflection of a truely fascinating journey, 14 July 2012
This review is from: Nine Lives (Hardcover)
I am a long time supporter of South Lakes Wild Animal Park so when I heard that David had written a biography of his life and how the park began I couldn't wait to read it. I bought the book last Monday and had read it all by Friday, I couldn't put it down. Nine Lives is a fascinating warts and all read, showing not only the journey of David's professional life but also the heartfelt ups and downs of his personal/family life. David wears his heart of his sleeve and really connects with the reader through his honest account of his experiences. The writing style is raw and unpolished showing realism, feeling and true emotion. I was close to tears at David's recollection of Toba's death and laughed out loud with the description of Egor's arrival at the Park, David has certainly led a full life. Nine Lives, is a great read especially for those with a connection to the Park. David is an inspiration, showing us all how hard work, enthusiasm, commitment and pride can help us to reach our goals.
