Disney Pixar Cars 2 Mack and Diecast
Disney Pixar Cars 2 Mack and Diecast

1.0 out of 5 stars Not of Merchantable Quality. Do not buy., 13 Feb. 2013
When you are paying £40+ for a toy, from a reputable brand like Disney you expect something of decent quality, not that looks like something you bought from a market when you were in China. Well, this is like you bought it in a market. The sides dont go on properly, the product is of very poor quality, two of the toy cars broke within 2 minutes (bits broke off). The plastic used is the cheapest they could find. The packaging is made in such a way so you cannot inspect the item before purchase.

This is just a pure rip off. Do not buy. Even my two year old could see its rubbish.

NB Anyone who writes a review and says its good is working for Disney or their PR people.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book....unless you are British., 2 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Squandered (Paperback)
Very well researched covering many institutions in the UK. However, deeply depressing if you see the sheer waste, corruption and incompetence of the UK civil service and political class. A terrible indictment of the Blair -Brown years. No wonder the country is in the state it is.

Expected some great insight into the diamond business and de Beers and was left wanting. Not worth the effort of the read in my opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars K-PAX, excellent and disappointing., 18 Sept. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I loved the first book, but the autho'rs references in the second and third book to him writing them just for his and his wife's retirement, rings too true. The second and third part of the trilogy were just written to take advantage of the success of the film I suspect, rather than the authors need to say something.

2.0 out of 5 stars Read this before purchase., 27 Aug. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Firstly, the seat itself is well made, of good materials and of solid construction.

The problem is the instructions. They are so complex and confusing that they may as well be written in hieroglyphs. I have reported the product to trading standards, on the grounds that the instructions are so incomprehensible that I suspect that the vast majority cannot possibly be safely installed. We asked six different people to try to install it before sending it back; all failed.

Being that the installation is so complex would it not be logical to put a video on the Internet?

The manufacturers gave a lot of thought into the design and manufacture, and nothing into thinking about clear instructions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product for 3 months plus, 19 April 2011
We had our baby son in this from 3 months onwards - as soon as he had full control of his head. He loves it. Put a copy of any music and dancing on the computer with him in the bouncer, and he will bounce and 'dance' himself to ecstasy. It really helps their sense of balance and it strengthens and exercises their arms legs and torso. The product has a nice solid feel to it, and the little jacket is made of a good quality artificial fibre - safe and good for keeping clean. The only small problem is that of you have very wide walls it will not fit around them. The only other small problem is that it has cut a little into the plaster above the door frame. Great product - your baby will love it.

The braces are not as good as they look and the clips regularly lose their grip. I would not have bought them knowing what they would be like. If you are thinking about it look elsewhere.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nostalgic and entertaining view of the 60s., 7 Mar. 2011
Peter Quaif was a founding member of the band the Kinks rock group. He died in 2010, but he left us this book. The title tells it all. Vertitas means "Truth" in Latin. It is story about Marcos Manton and his journey through the 1960s as a member of The Elmores. It seems to be a fictionalised version of Quaif's experiences of the Kinks. It is well written, believable and entertaining; very funny in parts. It tells the back story of what it was like to be there at that time - the sex the drugs and the rock n roll, but also the politics within the group itself. I have only read half of it so far (it is a long book at 376 pages) but it gives a nostalgic view of the period from an insider, and for anyone with an interest in the Kinks, or the history of Rock music in England, a must.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Idea poorly thought through, 28 Dec. 2010
Firstly this is a great idea. It could have been a wonderful product. The idea of combining music and a light show to calmly put the child to sleep is superb.
But.... their is only one light show and it goes around much too fat to be relaxing; it is not adjustable.
The music is good and clear and you can adjust the volume.
There is the animal noises - again - a great idea but not quite there as is constantly interrupted by a strange 1950s style happy woman's voice. There is the light show and the moving bear on the front.

Overall it is a disappointment. It could have been superb. I guess it has been made by engineers who got the idea but didn't think about the end users needs (a baby). I don't know if there is a better product available - I will have to hunt around. If they take on board my comments and bring out a V2 - it has the potential to be wonderful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting book that westerners should all read, 19 Jan. 2010
This book does indeed pose some disturbing questions about the nature of Islam and points to parts of Islam which will make it very difficult for Islam to get away from the parts which encourage conflict and violence. A disturbing read unless you are Osama bin Laden or the 7/7 bombers as it demonstrates that their view of Islam is at least supported by history and the texts of the Koran.
As for the other the other reviewer that criticized the book on the grounds that it didn't answer the question as to why Islam is the fastest growing religion - this is not answered because it has nothing at all to do with the book. However, the answer is because Islamic countries have high birth rates and Islamic communities in the west have high birth rates.
