4.0 out of 5 stars A warning, 10 April 2011
Johnny Brook make bad guitars, and when you get them they're unplayable. However, a little work with some allen keys, bridge and trussrod and they sing. I've got A johnny Brook Telecaster which I play, and once fixing up the action, It's now my favorite guitar. THis is just the same. Don't buy this unless you have a mate who knows how to sort out guitars, or know how to sort out guitars yourself

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, 18 April 2009
First of all, get the book first. That's the first suggestion. Originally bought in the hope of using it for a drama performance that I expected to do. It is very long and the performance lasts about two hours. Also, some key event's are under or over played. For example, you have to remember that there are both Gollums and Imps, so there are both extremes of hight. As for the more visual things, the play copes very well. But I was disappointed by the big explanation I was expecting Him to tell her nearer the end. However, That doesn't make it bad, just average. Good for Pratchett fans who enjoy dramatics

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 18 April 2009
This review is from: Dog House Music (Audio CD)
For those of you who don't know (and possibly have better things to do) ; Sea Sick Steve is a modern blues artist. His whole persona is that of a hobo who has seen too much. He uses a three stringed electric guitar ("The Three String Trans Wonder") and a big wooden box that he hits with his foot ("The Manhattan Rhythm Box"). Very few teeth and a big soulful voice.

Now all the indie Kids have all clamped onto him making him famous at a rather odd age.

The majority of the songs are just him singing into a can with a slide, his guitar and this box. This is music in it's purest form, using a repeating hook to keep you entranced. It's the kind of song that I plugged in and became entranced all at once. When he starts playing his blues, you are transported to the world of trains, dosing and california. This album is magic, it's raw and it's also pretty damn cool to boot.

It's a must have for any blues lovers who have lost their way, giving a new lease of life in loving the genre. Also, if you are yet to love the blues, believing that it is a dead genre, then this will be the album for you.

A Must Have.

Film poster of Trainspotting. Mine had some weird marks on it, but still brightens up my room with the mixture of orange, white and black. Good for Fans of the film and Indie kids.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just a Great Game, 17 April 2009
As a game, this is crap. It was the first game I bought for my DS and it possibly wasn't the best choice. Although it doesn't utilize the DS to it's most possible perimeters, neither does it really need the touch screen and the actual game play is pointy and clicky and fiddly and IT DOESN'T WORK.

So why 4 stars?

It's an interactive novel. It's a silly Rom-Com that will make you laugh and feel and enjoy all the characters within the game. The two playable characters can be turned into yourself, with a veriety of options for you. But I never regretted buying this game, and I doubt you will either.

Besides, it's only a fiver

5.0 out of 5 stars Actually Fantastic, 5 April 2007
This review is from: Yes Man (Paperback)
When I fist picked up this book I had no idea what to expect. The little I had picked up from the Internet was a short Promo from YouTube. However, once buying It I didn't regret it once!
In the book, Danny is Desperately trying to get out of a rut and by the end he had: Had a fling (kind of); Been promoted; become a presenter; experienced a "Mindbomb"; and won £25,000! Whats more, within the jokes and jovial atmosphere is a tale of love, betrayal, drug abuse and monk poking. All the makings of a good film. In fact, Jack Black(School of Rock, Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny) is planning to make a film based on it!
I must say though, that this book isn't for everyone and If you are a first time reader of Wallace, please find an extract of it off the Internet or read the first chapter in a book store, or even try one of his shorter books so you can establish if you can actually take his humor.

But at the end of the day, this is Danny Wallace at his Prime. An absolute joy too read

(sorry about grammactical errors)

1.0 out of 5 stars please dont buy this., 1 April 2006
If you buy this game, you are one of the rasons vidiogames are declining. DO NOT BUT THIS GAME! IT WILL ONLY ENCORAGE THEM!
Ok i bought this. It said "make a movie with 5 differant geners" not having "the movies" i gave it a go.
It. Was. Dredful.
The game is a very poor platformer where you have to get film reels to get time starring the 3 animaniacs... whoever they are. you're running around trying to get to the end and at the same time you're making a movie. No crative rights. no saying how you want it. You get a level and the director says "make me 5 films or we lock you in the water tower" afther playing the game for twenty minuets, I felt happy for the director to do just that It's worse than a movie tie-in ( the cat in the hat kind by the way)
If you have good taste in games don't buy this. Kids -5 might like it but thats it.
