A really tasteful Easter card that is letter sized for postage purposes and really apt for anyone celebrating the true meaning of Easter. Printed on quality card with cut outs on the right and slight touches of diamante and embossed areas. Lovely.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tasteful, 13 April 2017
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a tasteful pale yellow card with gold embossing details and 3 small bits of diamante. This is a letter sized card - the inner message says "For the happiness you always bring and the kindness that you show, You're though about more warmly than you could ever know. Have a wonderful Easter". This is written on a paper insert. The overall impression is good but I was a little disappointed that the insert was quite sloppily glued in with a few wrinkles - at the rrp I'd expect perfection.

5.0 out of 5 stars A teacher says "oui", 12 April 2017
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a non-board specific workbook that covers all of the grammar required in the new challenging GCSE courses, including exercises on the subjunctive and passive, previously covered at AS level. There are only short reminders rather than full explanations of each tense and grammar point, so this would best be used with the CGP grammar handbook that is also available or alongside a text book course. For the motivated pupil there's a good range of exercises from multiple choice to filling the gap and also, importantly, translation - a skill that is new to pupils having not been covered in the previous curriculum.

There are full answers and plenty of space to write. It's all in black and white with minimal photos and trademark CGP jokey comments. I like the fact that there are not too many exercises on each page and the French is excellent and well pitched.

Great for consolidation and would be useful for a student needing more practice to increase confidence at this level. An excellent resource.

I have these practically all over my house now - probably to the bewilderment of the neighbours. With third party apps and a Hue bridge (purchase separately or in a starter set) it's possible to turn your house into a riot of colour changing. The range of colours is impressive and they work seamlessly with Echo, Samsung Smart Things and apps such as IFFT - I have them set up with all of these to greet me when I arrive home or flash when a timer on Echo comes to an end - the possibilities are endless.

These bulbs certainly have added fun to my home - work well and are a quality item.

4.0 out of 5 stars The view of a French teacher, 11 April 2017
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a useful A5 sized reference book - it won't teach you grammar as there are no exercises, but it's handy to have for helping to decipher the new demanding curriculum, particularly at a time when many schools are not able to provide text books to every pupil.

Everything necessary at this level is covered and the explanations are clear and concise with examples in French and English of every point. I would have to say though that the pages are a little unnecessarily "busy" due to titles and the French examples all being highlighted in somewhat jarring colours - it's not easy on the eye, though possibly done to avoid it being photocopied?

Some more complex ideas such as the subjunctive could bear deeper examination. A couple of times too the English seems a little at odd with the French - "Réfléchit" is translated as "reflects" whereas I would be happier it being translated as "thinks about" - I can see why they used the cognate but in other places too the English doesn't seem quite right - eg "he eats less weirdly than his brother" - echoes of the famous "la plume de ma tante" maybe?

All that said it's definitely useful to have as something to dip into for the motivated student - I just wish it were (<subjunctive) a little less colourful!

This seems to come up quite large. Washes well - though don't tumble dry - and is a nicer piece of uniform than the old style.

This review is from: Real FX Slotless Racing (Toy)
This works really well and was great value at the price I paid. Fair amount of track makes for good play value and the cars have stood up to plenty of play. Not too draining on the batteries and the track is more robust than it looks. Great fun - have had a few problems with controls dropping out and it's not that intuitive to set up but all in all lots of fun.

Really nicely finished and the right size for school books this is an excellent and good value purchase. Seems to wear well and there are a good number of pockets. Definitely worth buying this branded item in my opinion - thoughtful touches like the protected bottom and the comfortable straps make all the difference and the zips are sturdy too. Great buy.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This feels like one of those books that every young person should read - it's beautifully crafted and sensitively examines the theme of being a refugee through the eyes of a child, Subhi, who was born and raised in the camp. Through his eyes we find out about the "jackets" who police the camp and the inhabitants of the camp. Too often these days the word "refugee" becomes associated with newspaper headlines and pictures but the strength of this book is to go beyond headlines and through a fictionalised but convincing story make the issues seem real.

The story is compelling - I read it before passing on to my children, and I was gripped. I think it would be most suitable for secondary school age or Year 6 - there are some upsetting themes due to the nature of the story. There are strong messages but they are well handled and as a reader you really feel for the characters and they seem real.

An excellent story for young people - probably my best read this year in any genre - I would highly recommend.
