Very good, I got it to help me on my forna and flora moving towards ML, but also find 'story time' with the kids when I ma in Snowdia very cool, (plus its great for imparessing people by getting them to tell the storys from the back when you are at the right place)

1.0 out of 5 stars Not so supreme commander, 8 Mar. 2010
Where to start... well I was playing Total Annihilation back in '99, and what a game that was, a compleate change over prevouse RTS typlified in C&C, vast selection of units, massive maps, and challanging single player.

Then came Supreme Commander, this took many of the great things of TA and amplified them, HUGE Maps, Stragic Zoom (a killer feature), and time consuming single player, plus a experimentals thrown in (all we had in TA was 1, the Krog)

Then came SC2, and what 10 units? Stunning looking but small maps, small unit caps, underwelming experimetals, and a single player where commander alone can compleate missions and which finish when the battle hasent even started as far as I am concerned, and a single tactis that works every time, build a massive force of fully researched tanks and drive it to enemy base = win.

Dont get me wrong there are some interesting improvments, as I have said the maps a stunning to look at, the idea of add-ons to the factorys is good, and the research idea has its potential, but none of this can get away from how much has been lost, no longer do you see units hanging from transports, and watching planes fly through mountains and just sit still in mid air (not landing), units driving through wreakage as if it is not there the list goes on and on.

It may well revolutionise RTS on consols but now its just another C&C clone on PC.

I have had this album for a long time, and have always found it a great selection of tracks, with very few fillers. Dont expect to here the same thing as lovefool as this is full of far superior tracks in my view.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good read but lacked an end., 25 Oct. 2007

A good story but lacking a true end to the story, this very much feels like a 2 parter.

Some of the early chapters I found a tad confusing and in all honesty of little relevance, truth is the first half of the book could have easily been a Warhammer book, and not a 40k book, the only tie being the place and a couple of the players, the second half turned more 40k, but again this is cut short with truly very little done to progress the story of the 1st Legion.

The only real revelations was the development of the Lord Cypher character and what he represents, it certainly adds something more to perhaps the most intriguing of 40k characters.

To learn more of the mythos of the fall, I would suggest Angels of Darkness, but this book is still worth the read even though it doesn't reach the hopes of what the story could have been, perhaps the story will continue in the last book of the Heresy series, as the fall of the Angels was the last real chapter in the Heresy.
