As many positive reviews here, I have played this game before. I have played Elite on the BBC at a friends house and had to have it for my Commodore 64. Then upgraded to a Amiga and brought Frontier Elite for that and made it to dangerous. This is a hard game, don't expect to complete it it in one week, one year or possibly one life time: It is massive! Try and see this as the equivalent of passing your driving test. It takes hours of practice. This is the game that Elite fans have all been waiting for. If you are not a fan of Elite then I advise to go play it, just to get a feel for how this dream has developed. Elite is not a stand-alone game it is a results of transition from one system and one style of game-play to another get in on the journey and you will see all the benefits. Once you have learnt to fly then you will see the whole experience change forever!

Unfinished animal: The aquarian frontier and the evolution of consciousness
Unfinished animal: The aquarian frontier and the evolution of consciousness
by Theodore Roszak
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars Unfinished Study, 3 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Theodore Roszak has managed to bring together the various Counter Culture activities under one neat banner of the Aquarian Frontier and produced an academic analysis of the subject.

However, he does not allow enough space or give enough analysis to personalities such as Uri Geller and Erik von Daniken and is very quick to debunk them without analysing all the evidence for himself. It seems that if anyone has criticized them then he automatically takes their viewpoint in writing them off as chancers and tricksters. The worst example, though is the dismissal of Dr Puharich, who goes on to do ground breaking work with deep space channelling via The Only Planet of Choice, and who was, at the time of writing, an established expert in the field of PSI work.

Later in the text he makes a stunning analysis of the despair in people's life that comes from the Enlightened views points. This is this books main contribution and cannot be overstated enough. Despite its pitfalls that can be viewed in hindsight, Roszak recovers his status as the sage of the Counterculture.

Overall, it is a great foundation for future researcher, which will bring this proto-study up to date.

Prelude to the Landing on Planet Earth

This is the first publication of 'Briefing to the Landing on Planet Earth'. Stuart Holroyd does an excellent job at looking at the evidence that he compares against source material. He starts out as a skeptic and cannot dismiss the information received by the 'Transceiver', The Council of Nine and their spokesman 'Tom'. He explores the processes that are used in this channeling and he attempts to view these as induced by the main two participants, but fails to come up with anything that would indicate that there is any collusion. The gist of the narrative (as it does turn into one) is that the they go off to stop nuclear war and the destruction of Israel during the 1970s. This all sound far fetched, but the facts and the way it has been conducted appear to be completely plausible.

If you believe in a higher power, the existence of intelligent life in this and other galaxies, then this is the book for you. I would also recommend reading the follow up work The Only Planet of Choice, which will fill in more details on areas that are briefly mentioned here.

This review is from: VALIS (Hardcover)
What can you say about VALIS? It is a personal journey of a very different person based on childhood experiences, a possible 'walk in' or previous life and drug taking. Horse Lover Fat is the alter ego of PKD, so to have them viewed separately is interesting in itself. If there is a message to the book it is that the third eye people (stay with me now) are packing up and going home. This for those who do not study chakras is the third eye people or as there are some misunderstandings it is those according to PKD who have come from Sirus. Why? Well it is because Jesus is coming back so the world no longer need there control / input.

As PKD would say 'the empire never ended' but its time is nigh!

5.0 out of 5 stars 'It is not a joking matter..', 29 May 2015
This track appears on the 12" version of Lyrical Machine on the B side. I watched the cult classic Sci-Fi film Dark Star yesterday, and there is a cheeky sample from there at the beginning. This track just will not leave my life even thought the 12" is just a distant memory. However, this is the track I played the most from it and it is, in my opinion, better than the original track.

Well done Stereo MC's for bring it back!

5.0 out of 5 stars I would have really liked to have read The Owl in Daylight, 4 Mar. 2015

There is a lot more to this interview than meets the eye. Dick is exploring the concept of God and the idea of Christianity via the genre of science fiction. If you thought, I would have really liked to have read The Owl in Daylight, then there is no need to look any further, as the whole book is laid out here. Not to spoil it for you but, it is to do with colour, or as Dick would write color, and music. That's all I'm going to say.

There are plenty of Blade Runner pages for those who like this film and want to find out more about the making and Dick's reaction to his Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? I read it in four sittings and found it a real page turner as his conversations were rapid and energetic. I have since brought Blade Runner (The Director's Cut).

If anyone is interested, the recurring female Femme Fatal in a number of his books, I think around seven, appears to represent his own mother.

Ok, so this the original re-mastered: it sounds terrific. I first heard this track on the radio (Power FM based in Southampton) circa 1990. There was a DJ playing all the contemporary Italio House and UK House tracks. If you want to get a feel for one of the best in field of early dance/rave music, then this is a great place to start. If you like this, then buy one of the Italio House albums. You will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive, 15 Aug. 2013
Not many books could cover such a large period of history and differing battles with such accuracy proficiency and clarity. It must be said that if you have an interest in tanks or want to know something about the main battles these weapons of war appeared in over almost the past 100 years, this is the perfect place to start your journey. The wording is clear and uncluttered and the maps bring a scale to conflicts that ring load in the public consciousness, such as, D-Day, Kursk and El Alamein. Also covered are little know or covered battle grounds, such as China (1937-45) and The Spanish Civil War.

4.0 out of 5 stars Food Fight, 23 May 2012
It may be misunderstood by reviews on the Atari Times website but take the time to read the booklet and the introduction before the game starts and you will understand the plot. Though it is a bit of a strange concept for a game, give it time and you will find that this game has the potential for cult status, as there is nothing else like it out there. The graphics are nice and the game play is challenging. The sound is effective and the power ups are fairly good but not varied enough. That is my only complaint therefore 4 stars not 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forward-fast, 11 Nov. 2011

Unlike the other review for this book I have read 'On Mexican Time', which I would say needs to be read to understand this book. Cohan, it would appear assumes in this text that the reader already knows his past episodes in Mexico. I do feel that this could have been called 'Still on Mexican Time' or something along those lines. This would clear up any confusion that this text is a follow-up to the previous one. This is just as good as the first book and explores the reasoning for travel and experience. Again in this book, Cohan seem to be in the right place at the right time and makes his journey slightly magical, tinged with insight and strange experiences. I must say though, read 'On Mexican Time' first or this will come across as flighty and lack the depth and warmth of the first.
