5.0 out of 5 stars I have a lovely relationship......, 7 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
....with this Meerkovo crowd as do other friends. This book was bought as a stocking filler at Christmas for a friend and was well laughed at over the festive season. Hardly intellectual but a good buy. The bloke who dreamed up this whole "meerkat" family and antics needs a gold medal.

1.0 out of 5 stars First Bellowhead purchase, 7 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Broadside (MP3 Download)
I bought this MP3 download as I liked their current record (Blow the woodpile down) being played on my favourite radio station. I had also heard others talk fondly of them and their music. As a folk music fan I also recognised other tracks by name but not when played. Apart from the track I bought it for I probably won't play it again. Bad buy for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blow by blow account but totally brillaint, 24 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Track 1 - Shows just how miserable life could be as a convict who then becomes and ex convict, but he's still miserable
Track 2 - The good Bishop sticks up for naughty ex con on the run and makes him even more miserable
Track 3 - Cop singing just how miserable the slippery ex con is making him
Track 4 - Glimpses into the miserable working conditions of the time
Track 5 - A seriously miserable song, ends up badly
Track 6 - Miserable cop catches up with slippery ex con who has now come good. Ex con gives miserable cop the slip again making him even more miserable
Track 7 - Pretty orphaned child singing happy song so that she can forget how miserable her life is
Track 8 - A hilarious song showing that even in these miserable times and miserable surroundings there is still fun to be had
Track 9 - A love song between two people who are making each other miserable
Track 10 - Miserable cop singing about slippery ex con AGAIN !! Also sings in a miserable voice about how "godly" he is .
Track 11 - OK, now we are getting to the really miserable bit - several young bloods full of testosterone, lust and hope sing loudly about how miserable life is (much like the pop stars of today)
Track 12 - A lovely love song about how miserable she is without her new love
Track 13 - A lovely love song about how miserable he is without her
Track 14 - Back to the miserable bit - Hopeful song by the young bloods about the war they are going to start tomorrow but they don't know how miserable it is going to turn out to be
Track 15 - Leader of the young bloods (also one half of the new loves) tries to raise a glass to his mates and keep their spirits up about tomorrows battle but he hasn't got his mind on the job, he's too miserable
Track 16 - Now we are nearly at the really really miserable bit - ex con, who has now realised that the girl (the orphan) who is in his charge, is in love with the main young blood and hopes that he is spared in tomorrow's battle as he feels so guilty and miserable
Track 17 - Lots of noise and misery
Track 18 - (don't watch this bit in the movie if you are squeamish, thankfully they haven't put all the sound effects on the soundtrack !!) The song is just so miserable
Track 19 - A terribly miserable song about how badly the battle went and how he misses his friends who he lead to be killed in the battle
Track 20 - A climax of misery on the lovers wedding day - how miserable is that. Makes you very very miserable
