These books are superb ! My 7yr old son has never read a book so fast. He read the first book in a day and I had to slow him down. The books are based in gladiator days but with young boys and show a true feeling of freindship, courage and bravery. They have to fight their way through trials and face all sorts of monster, like the one eyed demon and snakes which is why I wouldn't recommend this for under the age of 7 yrs. It's definately a book to get hooked on and even I found myself desperate to read the next chapter at bedtime. One tip though is that they definately need to be read in sequence as the stories link up and follow through with their quest to escape. Great stuff and nice to read something different for a change. Brilliant !!! Book 1 starts with The Heros Quest and book 2 is Escape from Evil, Book 3 Stowaway Slaves, Book 4 Rebels Assault and Book 5 Rescue Mission and Book 6 Blade of Fire, That should help as haven't got the numbers on them when you buy them on line !!!!

My 7 yr old son absolutely loves these books. I bought him the first series and i've never known him read a book so fast. Even I was hooked and couldn't wait to read the next chapter at bed time. They are based in gladiator times but with young boys who are made to fight as gladiators but without the blood and guts of the real gladiators. Yes there are some yuk creators they have to face and trials they have to pass to save keep themselves alive and save their friends lives but it's a real change from the same old stuff. My 7 yr old read first book in a day and I had to slow him down. Great books but not for under the age of 7 as some one eyed monsters and snakes etc to kill on the way !!! Definately need to read them in sequence too as the books go through a journey and follow on after eachother.

An absolute necessity for any student looking into universities. Gives an insight from students points of view not just the lectures. Tells you information outside of the uni and the area as well an inside the uni and the courses. Brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous !!, 6 Jun. 2010

Bought this for my 7yr old son for bed times. He loves the books but decided on some new ones to play at bed time. Listening to Roald Dahl himself telling the stories was great and he absolutely loved them and has played them over and over. Something about the way Roald Dahl tells them that you never tire of. I looked long and hard to buy individual cd's for him and the prices were quite pricey so this was a brilliant buy as a collection set. Worth every penny. Expected to be ripped off in some way with a shorter version or something because the price was so good for so many stories but not dissappointed at all. BRILLIANT BUY !
