5.0 out of 5 stars The next best Mac Pro Upgrade, 20 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you use an external drive, and a mac pro, then this is brilliant.
Easy to install - my mum can do it. don't worry about CD's or software, just plug it in to one of the available PCI slots and instantly works.
It is faster than USB 2.0 - but of course only with USB 3.0 devices. Of which this is probably only an external drive. I have an external USB 3.0 drive. I ran a test with BlackMagic Speed test before and after. Before the drive registered Read 33.9 MB/s and Write 24.9. When I plugged the same drive into the new 3.0 it read Read 80.5 and Write 79.5. Wow!
I reckon a full secure drive wipe in USB 2.0 will take 3-4 hours. I did one with the 3.0 at less than 1.5 hours
I have plugged-in my printer too but it is a shame that printers can't make use of USB 3.0 (yet)
Highly recommended. Very reasonable price.
It came fast as well.

The only upgrade I can recommend ahead of this is an SSD drive on (one of) the PCI slots

4.0 out of 5 stars Works brilliantly - but not windose 7, 14 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought these because the guy next to me used them. They are comfortable and have a good sound. Worked immediately with my Sony smart phone and plugged and played with my Mac seamlessly. Particularly good with the phone because there is a speaker mic.
Would be 5 stars but they don't work with windose 7, my work computer. They do work with windose XP as my colleague can testify. I tried to get the correct drivers from Dell and 3rd party but they just don't exist yet. Otherwise for the money they are brilliant and I recommend - I just can't enjoy radio 3/4 at work...

4.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best in the UK, 3 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you don't speak German and can read German then this is the 2nd best German Stamp catalogue. Michel being the best in class. Still this improves with each edition with more information about the stamps, their printing and artwork and more color images to look closely at.
Still some way behind Michel on forgeries and forged cancellations. Rule of thumb is if the stamped version is 4 times as much cancelled then be wary of little post office stamps
Otherwise this is a wonderful book and my Dad is completely lost in it, busy cataloging his collection. Expensive but worth every penny unless you have the previous edition already

1.0 out of 5 stars next to useless, 3 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Simply doesn't work a complete waste of money. Woeful instructions but any combination of fitting and button pressing cannot overcome fundamental poor quality. I'm pretty sure it isn't waterproof either given the plastic covers, but I have already consigned it to a dry and warm bin

1.0 out of 5 stars Good idea let down by poor build quality. Very difficult to build, 1 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Should be a good rating if the quality of the product was good enough.
First of all you cannot build this with the tools suggested. As a minimum, you will need a flex-grip vice to pull the plastic together and a specialised tool to turn the plastic bolts in their slot - alternatively hands of steel.

I could have coped with this but after getting the shed together with added tools I found the door warped. So badly it leaves a gap at the top and bottom of the door. I phoned the customer helpline - and this was good - they told me they would send a replacement door. The problem is the design of the shed - it's strength comes from how it 'clicks-together' - it is not designed to 'pull apart' again. I can't test this because a week later and the replacement door hasn't arrived.
Overall pretty naff and I am a small nudge from returning it - but I need a shed even with a wonky door.
Impossible to recommend - best avoid

2.0 out of 5 stars Should be Google Chrome not so much Sites, 15 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I wanted something helpful about Google Sites.
You can't cry about Google Sites - they are free and so learning to use them is a bit of a wiki experience - and bless all the stars that post articles and videos how to. Because if you want to know about Sites more than the very basics then get online because this book is more about how 'I love google' chrome, docs etc.
If you want an overview (basic) of google applications then this is the book. The title is misleading - and hence the 2 stars - and 2 was a struggle given the cost of the book and what I have actually found useful. Go online

5.0 out of 5 stars Got to be interested in Germany / German History, 15 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you are interested in Germany then this book explains really well about this important geography and historical time. Lets face it Germany is the lead country in Europe by about a mile. understanding some of their history and politics is for me fascinating. I collect German stamps and find the historical timelines really useful.
It is a really well written history of an important time for all of Europe.

3.0 out of 5 stars Install on Mac a doddle, 17 Nov. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Great price for a great bit of kit.
Arrived, out of the box, plugged in and cartridges in place. Plonked in dvd (though not exactly needed) and was the easiest printer set up I have ever endured - and believe me using a pc at work and printing is a nightmare.
I have a mac ethernet connected to a 'extreme' hub and the printer found that easily and prints quickly.
x2 laptops were easily connected by wifi and even my son's windows laptop found the printer.
I particularly like the scanning function, click scan and choose the whole image or different components.
Quality and speed of print is good - though we haven't tried any photo quality yet.
For the price this printer is wonderful and so easy to connect - the install software is almost good enough to admire, on a mac anyway

Update
This does NOT work with mac OS 10.8 The scanner becomes redundant. A shame, because it worked fine until then - now it is us useless at scanning. Sadly no help from Canon
