to anyone you can. The range between its covers is enormous and it speaks out in an eloquent of thrillingly direct poems.

Give this collection to anyone you know; publicans and poetry wallahs alike will love it.
"Staying alive" is the perfect andidote to Precious and affirmation in depressing times.

to be read, well over half a century since Alan Paton understood and mourned for his beloved South Africa.Prepare to be profoundly affected, moved and informed. This is a deeply intelligent work of art that focusses on two fathers but touches us all.
Paton's storyteling is engrossing and lyrical language sings, biblically, across the sweep of his few, resonant pages. The spirit of this key work of 20th century literature expresses a generosity of spirit essential for any possibilities of Truth and Reconciliation for our world..

5.0 out of 5 stars "The Moon is Down" Steinbeck's Humanity, 17 Nov. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a fine read, a work of striking humanity, not "1940s "propaganda". Steinbeck's fable of Occupation is universal and timeless. Give this deceptively brief novel to any thoughtful friend. It will provoke long thought.

A good companion piece to "Animal Farm" and an antidote to warmongerers.
