4.0 out of 5 stars Spot on., 8 Feb. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a very good gauge. Seems to be really well built(alloy body) and sturdy. The rubber makes it easy to grip. Hopefully the accuracy is as stated in the description.
I'm old school so use the psi scale therefore changing to the other units is not an issue. It's used on more than one vehicle so the "programmable" bit is of no particular use either.
Having a spacesaver spare in one car means that the 99psi top limit is ideal for checking it's 60psi required pressure. I've docked a star only because it can be a bit fiddly to achieve an airtight seal on the tyre valve.
Easy to read bright display but I suspect the plastic is the weak spot there. It looks like the readily available batteries are easy to change, one small screw. Not tried in the dark yet but the small l.e.d. looks to be bright enough to see what you are doing.
A strong protective case too.

2.0 out of 5 stars Display fault., 8 Feb. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Worked well until soon out of warranty period. It became very slow in spite of using Cleanmaster app and the screen is now less sensitive. There is also an intermittent display fault, possibly something wrong with the graphics, when it does, the screen displays what can only be described as noise. Adopts the appearance of a manic oscilloscope. It will then be fine for a short time and the same thing happen again.
I anticipated that going for a "branded" tablet would be a safe purchase. Obviously not.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and nasty., 8 Feb. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
In spite of care, veg. oil lubrication, trimming and following the instructions to the letter this thing would not turn smoothly and kept sticking.
This has to be down to poor quality and cheap plastic components. A bit pie in the sky to expect better at the price.
It was fun assembling it with my Grandson though.

2.0 out of 5 stars Navigation good - but!, 11 Dec. 2015
This is my third TomTom, bought first "One" years ago then a XXL Classic. Must say both those were better than this model, even the old "One". The only downside was having to pay for map updates.
The actual navigation is fine on the 5100 but that's about it. Firstly after connecting to their Mydrive, far inferior to "Home", an update took 5 hours to download (4.5Mb/s connection) using ethernet cable and 2 hours to transfer. to the inadequate 8Gb internal memory. Come on TomTom, memory is cheap nowadays. The voice recognition is a useless gimmick. "sorry I don't understand" etc.. You have to shout at the device to even receive that message. It would have been better to have Bluetooth instead. The screen is far too reflective. I don't know which mobile provider they use for the traffic but most of the time it's not available, as shown by a cross through the two cars icon. It takes forever to boot up when first switched on, around two or more minutes. Sometimes it goes into a boot up loop. It's fine from "sleep" mode though.
Good points! It picks up satellites very quickly, even indoors. The window mount is very good, I personally prefer a removable type to those which are incorporated. The user interface is different but once used a few times it is quite good. The "computer" voice seems to have been improved with more than adequate volume available. It looks like they've done away with speed related volume.
Way overpriced for what it does which I suppose is the only way TomTom receive some revenue for the map, speed camera updates and the traffic.
Contacted TomTom customer support who were as much use as a chocolate teapot and seemed to suggest that the inability to soft reset, as recommended by their Community Manager, was quite normal?!
Returned for a refund.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not fit for purpose., 18 Nov. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Sticks to windscreen well and the ball is a good fit in the socket.
However, it will not fit into the back of my nuvi 55. It locates at the top but will not lock in at the bottom. The risk of aftermarket, non genuine, products.
Returning for refund.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for differing hot/cold pressure., 18 Sept. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Purchased two of these. My kitchen and bathroom sink hot water is gravity fed and the cold is mains pressure. As a consequence, if both hot and cold taps are turned on together, the cold water flows into the hot water system. So to comply with water regulations I have fitted one to each hot water supply.
Easy to fit after isolating the hot supply. Cut a small section out of each pipe and insert the check valve observing the flow arrow cast onto the valve body.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and cheerful., 8 Sept. 2015
These pliers are not great quality but for the price are more than adequate for their intended, probably home d.i.y., use.
I only purchased them to slacken the large securing nut on a cistern flush and then to tighten the nut on the new valve. 2" outlet. Good enough to achieve that and possibly not much else!
I found the soft jaws to be a bit lacking in grip so opted to use without them.
So yes, for the occasional time they could be used, no problem.
