There maybe Adele and Ed Sheeran but there will always be a place for James Blunt. This is another stunning album by the master, slightly different in places but still very much the heart of James Blunt that shines through his earlier albums. Not sure he will pick up a lot of new younger listeners with this but it will keep everyone that enjoys his music very happy.

I could easily give this five stars its a far better album than the last two or three offerings from the band but not quite up to some of their earlier stuff. Bowling for Soup have always been about fun and you don't need to take them to seriously. This album has complete range of songs from the typically punk style of their past on songs like Since We Broke Up and Envy to the almost melodic vocals on the cover of Circle. If this is the last album from the band its a good one to go out on!

Having seen the band many times over the years and having most of their albums in one form or another I was undecided as to purchase this or not. However having taken the plunge I have not regretted it. This is a wonderfully presented box set. I am sure you can find the live CDs and DVD elsewhere but this brings together most of what James have been about for so long. One of the best bands to come out of Manchester in the late eighties and early nineties if you move on from the well known singles there is a depth of music to find on here that few bands have ever replicated.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Trip in the Past, 29 Oct. 2013

This album treats you to a trip into the past with its eighties style synthpop style. However with echoes of the past it is also has an update and fresh sound about it.
Whilst many of the songs have quite simple melodies the vocals turn the music into another place. Not sure its an 'Album of the Year' but this is a great début from a stylish new band.

As a band that have not released a huge amount of music over the years it is always with anticipation that I look forward to a new offering from one of the most unique bands in the world. Part of the enduring love of their music is that it is always a little different and always developing as time moves on.
This album is no different, its very good, a little different but still Arcade Fire. The distinct vocals the bass lines and the intricate music that sits under the songs ensures you have that.
Its unfair to compare it to what went before. Its a stunning bit of music that should be enjoyed by everyone who loves Arcade Fire on its own merits
