1.0 out of 5 stars Digital copy doesn't work with iTunes, 26 July 2012

Another recent 20th Century Fox film which provides a digital copy that intentionally won't work with iPods or iPads. Misleading advertising and crass stupidity from the studio!

How annoying is it when you purchase a product that is supposed to provide you with a portable copy only to find that the producer deliberately doesn't allow you to use it on the most popular portable platform - iPod/iPad?
What happened to providing your customers with what they wanted (and thought they were paying for)?

These are probably the best quality felt-tip pens I have ever come across and to get a pack of 20 at this price is a real saving over other suppliers. I ordered two packs!

4.0 out of 5 stars Shamlessly nostalgic, 16 May 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I loved this stuff when it was first published in the mid-/late-80's so am predisposed to love it again now. It's a bit broken up by crossover stories whose details are covered through insets between issues, but the art is a joy and it still raises a chuckle. Wish DC would have stumped up for some better quality paper though, this stuff will yellow in a few years.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kitty is Buffy...discuss!, 19 Jan. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Top quality story, top quality art, top quality presentation. This large hardcover edition collects the second half of Joss Whedon / John Cassaday's run on the X-Men and it is terrific stuff, well worth the money.

The Hellfire Club storyline builds really well but (and here is where it loses a star) has no real conclusion - Agent Brand just teleports everyone away before any resolution.

The story as a whole contains the best character development ever for Kitty and Peter which helps overcome any shortcomings in Breakworld storyline (it feels a bit like Joss wanted a shot at "X-Men in Space" during his run).

But can anyone else hear Sarah Michelle-Gellar's voice when they are reading Kitty's character?

4.0 out of 5 stars Corking!, 24 Dec. 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Really enjoyable wrap up of the Death of Captain America storyline with heroes and villains galore. It's old school 70's Marvel brought forward 30 years.
This storyline has been the best mainstream work I have read by Ed Brubaker, art is dynamic if not flashy, and the colour palette gives the book a really distinctive look. My only criticism is that the epilogues are too quick - I wanted to see more of the fallout - but overall highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality!, 24 Dec. 2008

I was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. My previous impression of Darwyn Cooke's writing was that it can be a bit thin with not much depth but Kryptonite is truly a multi-layered story. Tim Sale's artwork has been an acquired taste for me, but the stuff he has produced for the Heroes TV series has made me look at it in a new light and I can now see the real power and drama in his work.
Would definitely recommend this story to those who enjoy their DC Comics in "retro" flavour.

4.0 out of 5 stars 80's nostalgia, 24 Dec. 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
You're going to enjoy this book if you are (like me) a thirty-something who can remember the original Booster Gold and Justice League series from the '80's. It's a great romp through those stories with a time-travel tweak which tickles my nostalgia bone. Absolutely nothing revolutionary, but entertaining storyline with solid art - I liked it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable, but needed more content, 23 Dec. 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A good effort from Loeb & McGuinness, reminiscent of their Batman / Superman work in that it's pretty straightforward superhero-ing, very fast paced with suitably chunky artwork but I was disappointed that there was no reveal at the end of this volume. Hope we won't have to read another six issues before finding out the full story behind Red Hulk. Great price from Amazon though!
