Dark Souls II - Black Armour Edition (PS3)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sequel, 30 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Being a fan of the souls series since the ps3 exclusive Demon's Souls I ansiously awaited for this game.

An huge world to explore with many secrets and the interesting minimalistic plot.
But this game really shines in character builds, allocating stat points and coming up with the warrior you always wanted to be in a action-RPG game.
Online game is still as clever as previous entries, leaving messages that gives hints to other players, playing in coop and player versus player interaction. There is even new areas with certain objectives to complete in PVP.
The combat is still top quality with lots of bosses to fight and challanges to overcome, that in the end brings lots of satisfaction.

The sequel was made with a new engine, and although the graphics look better, the lightning effects seems really bland making some textures look odd.

Even with the weird lightning effects it doens't compromise the overall experience of this amazing game.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best budget Smartphone, 30 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a great budget smartphone to own.
It's very slim with a modest hd ready screen size. It is fast and responsive with it's quadcore processor and the battery lasts for days it's amazing in this regard.
The memory space seems small but with google drive and installing the dropbox app, memory is not an issue.
Good quality in calls.
Overall for the price quality ratio this is the best budget smartphone currently in the market :)

4.0 out of 5 stars A much needed Hack and Slash for the ps3 library, 28 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Diablo III (PS3) (Video Game)
It took a while for local co-op games to arrive for the ps3, but when it did, it was diablo 3.

The controls are responsive, and controlling the character gives it a different vibe from the pc version. It almost feels like playing an action game.

The main focus is still loot, collecting gear to improve our character, this time however without the Auction House, all of the items comes from slaying monsters, breaking stuff or opening chests and the quality of the items makes the game feel way more rewarding.

The game allows you to play with friends locally and online(it is possible to mix) and it's a blast! My only complain here is that whenever a player wants to check their inventory the other players(who are playing locally) can't do anything and have to wait until the player finishes their inventory and skill management.

The story is predictable and cliche, it can be annoying but it doesn't ruin the fun that is to kill all those demons and monsters.

Overall a great attempt for blizzard to bring the pc game to the consoles!

4.0 out of 5 stars A good entry for the God of War Series., 24 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
In this new entry for God of War Series, players will experience a part of the past of Kratos after losing his family. And for the first time ever a multiplayer mode was added.

The gameplay is still great, but it is no longer the overpowered Kratos that players were used in the triology. Nevertheless the combat mechanics are still all there, entertaining, engaging and good looking, speaking of good looks, this game is once again visually amazing, so well detailed from giant creatures to amazing enviroments.

The only complain I can give to the singleplayer mode is the story, the developers decided to pick a less interesting part of the past of Kratos, it would have been way more amazing if they decided to tell the tales of Kratos when he was a general of the spartan troops. Instead players are left with a kind of side story, for when Kratos decided to have his revenge on the god of war.

Multiplayer comes for the first time for the series and it's so much fun, there is the usual team deathmatch and capture the flag modes, but with the combat mechanics of the singleplayer game. Players gain levels which gives them new skills and gear to use in battle.

Overall another great God of War game, with the only flaw being the less epic story.

3.0 out of 5 stars An entertaining naruto game, 24 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Since I have skipped Naruto Storm Generations, this game simply looks like Storm 2 but with a way bigger selection of characters from the anime/manga.

There are some improvements to the fighting mechanics, namely the substitution jutsu (Sort of counter) is now limited to a new 'energy bar' restricting some of the spam that was noticeable on Storm 2, although I do know that this system was introduced in Storm Generations. There's also the ninja move cancel, which brings some new tactics to the fighthing. Finally, , some ninjas can also enter in a special state right from the beggining of the fight, it makes some characters feel way more powerful than others.

The new characters added are great, but there are some that don't make much sense due to the fact that this game follows the ninja war arc in the manga/anime, namely naruto and some of his friends from pre-time-skip. And it seems because of this, some interesting characters that appeared during this part of the manga are missing from the roster.

The story mode manages to catch some of the great moments found in the manga/anime, but sometimes the cut scenes can drag for too long. Overall it is the same as naruto storm 2 free roam mode, but with less stuff to do, which feels like a missed opportunity to explore the ninja world. Also the added "hack and slash" mechanic in the story mode feels underused and had interesting potential.

The online mode suffers alot of lag and framerate drop. It can be fun at times with the tournament mode(up to 8 players) and the usual ranking, however many players seem to use cheap tactics(overpowered characters).

In the end it is another good naruto fighthing game, specially for fans of the anime/manga, although it didn't have the same 'magic' storm 2 had. Honestly after so many titles from the naruto ultimate ninja series, the series is starting to feel stale, and with no new major mechanics/modes(tag-team match, co-op free roam, just some examples), makes this game just an okay game.

Probably my favorite fighting game of this generation!
Mortal Kombat delivers a story mode, where it shows a lot of the characters background.
A great combat system(returning to the 2D plane), excellent for creating combos and to think of approaches to the fight.
Comes with other modes namelly: an endless tower, full of challenges and mini-games. Tag Team Fights! And Online play.
The krypt returns and once again there are so many things to unlock.
Overall it is an amazing fighting game! A must play.

Rayman finally returns, with a 2D adventure. Amazing artsyle and music, along with great gameplay, makes this one of the best platformers on the ps3.

The game has quite some levels, where a group of them, are challeging. There are secrets to be found and challanges to beat, but what makes this game so special is definitely the local multiplayer aspect of the game, ps3 lacks this sort of same-screen co-op(or versus) games. It is so fun to play with other people!

Final Fantasy XIII - Platinum (PS3)
Final Fantasy XIII - Platinum (PS3)

4.0 out of 5 stars A great game, not as good as previous final fantasy games, 5 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Amazing graphics, an okay gameplay with a compelling leveling system and an addictive crafting mode(upgrade weapon/accessories). Makes this Final Fantasy another good game. The story can feel a bit confusing at the beggining, but with the datalog(basically a journal), it is always possible to check the lore of this entertainning universe!

The game can feel a bit linear, with alot of narrow's path(most noticeble at the first few chapters) and a battling system that may feel repetitive with the use of the auto-battle option added.

At the end this is a great game, but comparing to previous Final Fantasy titles, it feels a bit weaker.

3.0 out of 5 stars There's room for improvements!, 1 Dec. 2012

A game full of hype, which normally couldn't live up to it.
The storyline is generally quite predictable and there seems to be missed oportunities to explore on the story, which is a letdown.
The graphics have a nice artstyle with detailed models but the game sufffers, when you see all of the background in the world, you will wish that you could explore a lot more of the world.

What makes this game good is obviously the gameplay, a leveling system where you chose whenever you want 6 skills/spells to use at any given time.
Killing all the monsters and bosses is great fun, where the main purpose for all the slaughter is to find loot, so you can equip your character.
There's however a problem with all the loot you get. Most things you find are pure JUNK! The chances of finding a great item(specially later on) are very, very slim.. You will spend your gold trying to buy gear in the Auction House. Which I think takes out the goal of this game..

At the end, the game seems a bit rushed, but with every update the game receives, it takes some small steps to be an amazing game.

In a simple word: Great!
The game offers an interesting storyline, with amazing graphics on the ps3! Mixed with good gameplay elements, raging from lot's of mini-games, side-quests and challanges to do!
The multiplayer is incredible fun and uses a leveling up system that keeps you hooked to the game!
The Game of the Year Edition gives all the dlcs, including a singleplayer 'zombie mode', which is also a nice twist for an already amazing game!
