5.0 out of 5 stars 'I Used to be a Citadel Guard... Until I Took an Arrow to the Knee at Helm's Deep' - A Lego Hobbit's Tale, 2 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
LEGO Video Games are very hit and miss... sometimes you can get the great ones (LEGO Batman 2: DC Heroes, LEGO Star Wars I, II & The Complete Saga) Sometimes your hit with a clunker (LEGO Batman: The Video Game)

Then you come on a real Gem that puts even the Great LEGO games to shame... (and makes the clunkers seem like they should be left to rot somewhere) LEGO The Lord of the Rings is that LEGO game.

Basing itself from both the films (tone, soundtrack and level wise) and the Books (Tom Bombadil & Rhadaghast the Brown from the original LOTR:FOTR Novel and The Hobbit respectively) it makes great use of some of the levels 'LEGO-Brck ability) and gives Kids a great LEGO experience and gives adult fans of games like SKYRIM and FABLE the oppertunity to enjoy a game that does involve Brickshed instead of Bloodshed (and with in-jokes like the 'Arrow to the Knee' - it should really be loved by fans of THE ELDER SCROLLS series.

LEGO The Lord of the Rings has proved itself to be the LEGO Game to Rule Them All, A Reputation it quite rightfully deserves...

5.0 out of 5 stars URBAN LAW!!! New DREDD is fantastic!, 17 Jan. 2013
Having been a fan of the original, Sly Stalone, feature from the 90s, i wanted to see how a british team would adapt what is clearly our original outline rather than the flash US version of the 80s and 90s.

Karl Urban plays a great DREDD and is up in his list of roles that have been defining (Eomer in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Extended Edition) [Blu-ray] [2002] & The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Extended Edition) [Blu-ray] [2003], Dr. Leonard 'Bones' McCoy in Star Trek [Blu-ray] [2009][Region Free], Vaako in Chronicles of Riddick [Blu-ray][Region Free] and the 2013 film 'RIDDICK' and Sgt. John 'Grim' Reaper in Doom [Blu-ray][Region Free]) and Olivia Thirlby excels as Anderson.

The Plot and Sets are great.

ignore the naysayers... DREDD Rocks ! ! !

5.0 out of 5 stars Season 7 is a Bad Year for the Winchesters.... (SPOILERS!!!!! - DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU HAVE SEEN IT), 31 Dec. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Now don't let the Title mislead you as Season 7 has been the best Season yet, but it was a year that Sam & Dean lost so much.
First, Castiel gets taken over by the Leviathans and is used as a vessel to send them across america, then Cass dissapears. Then a few episodes later Bobby is Killed by Dick Roman, head of the Leviathan team. After Sam descends into madness, Dean finds Cass again only to lose him at a mental hospital when he takes Sam's vision of Lucifer away and they have to kill Bobby again when he becomes a Vengeful spirit.

Sam and Dean Winchester will have some serious emotional Healing to deal with in season 8 when it is released on DVD and Blu-Ray.

James Bond - 22 Film Collection [Blu-ray] [1962]
James Bond - 22 Film Collection [Blu-ray] [1962]
Dvd ~ Sean Connery

5.0 out of 5 stars The Licence to Thrill... in High Definition., 25 Nov. 2012
To say that this is the Blu-Ray set is as relativly cheap as it is on release - every time a DVD Boxset was released before retailed at just over £150 (only the 50th anniversary dvd set has retailed less than £50).

To say that you essentialy get the first 22 Bond films for £4-£5 each on Blu-Ray, is quite fair and decent of MGM/20th Century Fox Home Entertainment considering the former nearly going Bankrupt several years ago.
And while it is quite a hefty collection, they didn't stop at making space for all the first 22 films and bonus disc... they are nice to include a sleeve what is quite possibly the best Bond Film yet: 'SKYFALL'.

And as for the presentation, well i have only gotten as far as 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service', but to say the rest of the 60s' stuff is looking pristine and beatiful gives high hopes for all up to 'Die Another Die' ('Casino Royale' & 'Quantum of Solace' having already been shot and released in HD), all the extras from the first 20 "Ultimate Edition" releases from 2006 (prior to 'Casino Royale' got it's theatrical debut) as well as everything from CR & QOS original release.

All in all, this boxset is worth the cash to part with and i definitly cant wait till SKYFALL to take its place with the rest.

and to quote various advertising: NOBODY DOES IT LIKE BOND!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Continuing Story of Survival Horror.... In Televised Form!, 2 Nov. 2012
'The Walking Dead' has proven that, no matter what the comic's fans believe (and i am one of them), the fact that it will include arcs that were not in the comics it still proved to be a highly successful TV Series - as popular as the comics themselves.

I for one love the Season One Finale where they go to the CDC and salvation and have to continue on makes some brilliant drama.

also the twists in the tale (such as the 'Search for Sofia' Arc that ended tragically in the Season 2's 7th Episode: "Pretty Much Dead Already" - Seriously when i first watched it my heart sank) that weren't in the comic and some stuff like Amy, Andrea's sister in the first season, who's death was handled much more emotionally than the comics (seriously its hard to cry when amy doesn't even flinch after she dies in the comic, then gets shot in the head...)

Downloaded Episodes 1-3 of season 3 so cannot wait to see the stories that are contained in the prison and feature the Psychopatic villain known as 'The Governor'

Hopefully some of the Story arcs from the comics still get used but it is nice to see them try different tangents.

'AMC's THE WALKING DEAD' proves to everyone you don't need to be George A. Romero to create a Decent Zombie Apocalypse.

5.0 out of 5 stars "It's a Fine Crew. And I've Gotta Get Them Home!" Kate Mulgrew and Co. Chart the New Frontier, 5 Aug. 2012

Having been bought Star Trek: Enterprise - Complete [DVD] for my Birthday by my Mother, and having got Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season 1 [Blu-ray][Region Free], I felt the need to enjoy more and more star trek... so i bought STAR TREK: VOYAGER having been wary of the reviews that state this is a poorly packaged boxset... that however is not the case. Both ENTERPRISE and VOYAGER and had never realised before how good this is when your old enough to get the more adult TREK storylines.

When STAR TREK: VOAYGER first aired on BBC2 back in 1995, I was about 6 Years Old and aside from spaceship, starship battles and explosions, could care little about strong stories...

7 Years Later, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE (Back when it was known as simply ENTERPRISE)was released on VHS in 2002. I started to care about the stories told in STAR TREK and not just spaceships, starship battles and explosions especially realising that as a prequel to the four eras that proceeded it, ENTERPRISE dealt with a crew that did not have a Prime Directive to uphold.

So watching STAR TREK: VOYAGER as a 23-Year-Old, I am seeing in it the same things i loved about the show that followed it.

The Questions that are posed to Captain Katheryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) and her mixed Starfleet/Maquis crew as they make their way home and the decisions, in relation to the Prime Directive, they make along the way make for great tales that when i have children, i hope i can share it with them as my Mother has shared it with me.

Thanks to CBS HOME ENTERTAINMENT and All the Cast and Crew for making me remeber Why it's Cool to be a Sci-Fi Nerd...

Live Long and Prosper...

Next Up on the buying list: Season 1-3 of STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES then the Full Journey of STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE as well as the complete STAR TREK: THE ANIMATED SERIES...

5.0 out of 5 stars The End is Near - A Great and (Sadly) Short Series from X-Files' Creator CHRIS CARTER, 19 Jun. 2012
TV - Fall 1996:

"The X-Files" would have been entering it's 4th Year on Television and the show's father wanted to get into a new method of storytelling...

So he comes up with this interesting little number - Starring the absolutley Amazing LANCE HENRIKSON... IN THE LEAD ROLE!!!!

MILLENNIUM is the story of Frank Black #Henrikson#, a retired FBI profiler who moves his Family to get away from his old Job...
But Like all good shows, he can't stay away for long and is soon thrust into a Murder Investigation with Biblical Implications.

He is Approached by the Millenium Group, a organization dedicated to investigating these murders as the predictions by Nostradamus come to the foreground - but whose true intentions will continue to remain a Mystery through the Series.

With a Style completely Seperate from TXF, MILLENNIUM is a early showing of where shows like Dexter : Complete Season 1 [DVD] and CSI: Las Vegas - Complete Season 1 [DVD] would get their inspiration.

It's a shame that this show only lasted Three Years - I only watched the Pilot and thought this could last 5 Seasons, end of Disc 1 i was thinking it could run 10 Years...

Hopefully Fox will realise their Mistake and Bring Chris Carter and Lance Henrikson to Frank Blacks world... in our modern times, TV needs a Hero like FRANK BLACK...

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally... The Wait is Over., 18 May 2012
The Doctor Who Graphic Novels are incredibly well put together and are always good value for money.

Magenta is an interesting character as she starts off a villain but turns hero only to have a darker side revealed later...

as a Comic Swan Song for David Tennant's 10th Doctor, it may lack the emotional Punch of The End of Time, but it makes up for it in fantastic story-telling and epic quality.

cannot wait for Vol: 14: all of the 11th Doctor Adventures up to The Child of Time...

Original Review, Published on 01st May 2012:-
It's been 25-Years since TNG first launched with "Encounter at Farpoint" and now TNG is out on High-Definition Blu-ray

Having bought the taster Disc Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Next Level (Blu-ray) [2012][Region Free] I was thoroughly impressed with the work done to upgrade it... so i have a pre-order on season 1...

Can't Wait till Season 3 & 4 Come out to see my all-time favourite 2-Part Episode Star Trek Next Generation - the Best of Both Worlds [VHS] [1990] in High Definition...

"Let's See What's Out There... Engage!"

New Review, 05th August 2012:-
Well i waited several months for TNG's first year to be released and have not been dissapointed.
I have not noticed the audio discrepences that have been so reviewed about (I must be one of the few to care about the entertainment value of the stories themselves, not the disc specifications) and enjoyed the Outtakes and making of features... and the option to watch launch trailers and episode promos before the episodes begin...

Cannot wait to see the rest of STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION on High-Definition BLU-RAY
