5.0 out of 5 stars More good stories from Rev Awdry, 17 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Nice gentle stories, often with a moral. This covers the arrival of Daisy Diesel to replace Thomas while he is being mended after an accident when going off without his driver, Daisy is a bit stuck up at first but soon learns how to be a very useful engine after Toby helps her with a bull. Percy has trouble with trucks.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent saucepan, 14 April 2015
I needed to replace some 40 year old saucepans and did NOT want non-stick pans. I chose this knowing that stainless steel pans are virtually non stick with no non stick coating to fail.

The pan looks good and is easy to handle. It cleans up a treat after use too. I wash and dry it straight away to stop it marking. Be warned cooking carrots can leave an orange mark round the top of the water level which doesn't always wipe off easily. I keep an old saucepan to cook them.

I'd definitely buy this make again and would recommend it to friends.

2.0 out of 5 stars This doesn't live up to the hype and the non-stick surface soon isn't non-stick, 13 April 2015
I was taken in by all the hype. The first few weeks were wonderful and the pan performed as advertised. BUT things then went downhill. I found the inside surface was beginning to mark and lose its non stick characteristics. It didn't wipe clean when washed and food began to stick. It got worse and worse and I've now cut my losses and am trying another brand. This was a waste of money.

Frommer's Newfoundland and Labrador (Frommer′s Complete Guides)
Frommer's Newfoundland and Labrador (Frommer′s Complete Guides)
by Andrew Hempstead
Edition: Paperback

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing and not as useful as I'd hoped., 12 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is the first time I've used a Frommer's guide book. There aren't many books covering Newfoundland and NS so this was a purchase of necessity rather than choice. Overall I wasn't impressed. I found the content superficial and not up to the standard of lonely Planet, Rough Guide or Footprint. From this experience I wouldn't choose Fromers again

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent introduction to castles, 12 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Grandson loves castles and this is an excellent introduction to what castles were like, how they were built, the development from wooden to stone castle, what they were like to live in and how they could be defended.

usborne books can be relied on to produce simple, clearly written books which don't talk down to the reader. They entertain and educate.

I've been using these for years and ouldn't use any other pencil now. They last well and the point always stays sharp. With the clear pencils you can always tell how much lead is left in them. Good rubber on the end.

2.0 out of 5 stars Heavy going and not a patch on Mapp and Lucia, 12 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've always enjoyed the Mapp and Lucia books and was expecting to enjoy this. What a disappointment. I found the writing decidedly turgid and quite heavy going. It lacks the sparkle of Mapp and Lucia. The characters didn't engage my interest and I gave up half way through.
