As good as the £100 plus shades I used to buy...a guy in the pub apologised for knocking them as he thought they were designer.

Robust enough for me to take onnmy field sports to.

Comfortable with a reasonable finish for office shoes. I will wear 10 hours a day 5 days a week with a lot off walking so if I get 3 to 4 months out of them for £20 it will beat the 2 months I have got out off £40 plus Clarks...will update in a couple pf months.

If you have wide feet these are pinching at the sides and toes

I will not give away a great deal of the plot but in brief
NASA send a third 6 team manned mission to mars, there is an incident where one team member is left for dead while the rest head back to earth and he has 6 months supplies for 6 people on an expected 4 year turnaround if he can find some way to communicate with NASA.

The story is one persons survival against adversity equipment failure and murphys law. It is realistic and believable with a main protagonist that you really feel empathy for.

I thoroughly recommend this ebook as the prose flows and it was very difficult for me to pit down, after 30 years of reading sci fi I could be considered jaded, this was a breath of fresh air.

5.0 out of 5 stars clever premise and a cracking read, 1 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Iam 40 and have an an awfull lot of Sci Fi, Asimov, Hienlen, Clarke, Hamilton and all the golden era classics.

This novel was well paced, a clever premise playing on the fears of gentically modified crops and little green men and had sufficent implausible actions scenes reminiscent of space opera but in a contemporary setting.

The opening novel is free and I suggest you give it a whirl and if you dont relate to ny of the characters I will be surprised.

I shall not divulge plot details and the main premise but it is a good clean fun read

Book 2 bitter harvest is on my wishlist.

Despite the picture the lenses are clear... as expected ;-)
I played 2 hours in these without fogging, discomfort or them falling off and most improtantly they had no impact on my vision of awarness on court.
The arms grip firmly and the nose piece does as well and apart from removing them twice to clear of some sweat I was not really aware I had them on.
Luckily no impact so I cant confirm there ruggedness but WSA approved and dunlop so should be good

5.0 out of 5 stars Fight Night loses by TKO, 18 Jun. 2008
This is a different game to the Fight Night Franchise... in this game you actually have to box and use your jab and consider your shots and follow the advice that the corner gives you.

It is possible to circle round the opponent and punch to the side,, step back and drop in a couple of jabs, cover up and throw a straight as your opponent winds up for a signature punch.

A very impressive game with a step learning curve on the buttons and tatics and a nice training side with online ranking

Fight Night is arcady in feel but this game will not disappoint pure pugilism purists.

Training games are challenging and you have to sacrifice training time for Celebrity Events and endorsements etc to raise your media profile to get noticed by different agents etc.

Graphically this game will not challenge Fight Night but the developers have clearly invested in your opponents AI and the feel of making your way up the ranks of your weight class. That being said its not poor graphically and there are a whole host of current boxers and during your career you get to play the part of some classic bouts and rounds that are legend.

As a first stab 2k have acheived a game that is worth your £30 will have great playability and has a good format for multiplayer with your mates on one 360 or online with one on one matches plus an 8 handed tournament event.

I would heartliy recommend this as a playable sports title with depth and live that will sit well in your collection and be fun solo/on-line or with mates and beers

5.0 out of 5 stars Breathtaking bloody mayhem on the roads, 24 Sept. 2007
This game is an absoloute gem, especially on the 2 for £40 offer.
Dizzingly fast and furious (excuse the pun)when burning on boost... its a real edge of your seat experience.

Climb the Ranks from harmless.. to insane and onwards through racing and taking out rival cars...some novel features souch as after touch... amechanism where you apply some direction to the mangled carcass of your vehicle after a crash and put it in the path of your opponenets or explode your car and take out 3 or more with crash breaker.

It has the old favourites from the franchise.... the section where you cause motorway mayhem by totalling all the vehicles at junction.

This is extremely good fun and has a local 6 way player option and of course the online.

Okay the game has been out a whuile so finding online games is hard but get some of your mates to buy this and play online together.

Terrific bargain basement fun.....wish I had bought it ages ago

3.0 out of 5 stars Two [Worlds] apart from Oblivion, 20 Sept. 2007
This review is from: Two Worlds (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
I own Oblivion and I have to admit in some respects, voice acting, overall grahics and autosave it is superior but you cannot do a direct comparasion of Oblivion and Two Worlds.

I have found two worlds to be very engaging and thouroughly enjoy the huge open ended environments and the fact that you are not tied into the main story line quest.

You can pick the quests in the different towns and villages that you come across without even starting on the main storyline and there are hours of fun in doing this.

One of the key features of this game for me is the skills development, you are not tied into a set class and you can pick which areas you wish to expand from passive combat skills through to actibve combat skills and across 5 magic classes.

If you don't like the choices you have made then you can pay a mage to undo your skills assigmeents and you get the points back.

The weapons and armours can be ugraded simply with Fire, Ice, Spirit, Lightening or Poision Damage.

Weapon and armour classes start at class 1 and if you find a similae weapon or armour set you can combine them and create more effective equipment.

There are orcs, bandits, reapers, wyverns, zombies, gouls, Golems, Cyclops and Dragons to fight.

The world is huge and interaction with NPC's does reflect your standing with 6 cultures in Two Worlds.

Nothing is cooler than destroying all the zombies and ghouls in one of 5 Necromancer Towers and riding of on a skeletal horse!!!

The fighting system is basic, right trigger (rt) x 1 is a slash, rt x2 a slash and lunge or rt x 3 a combo but you can supplment these attacks with active combat techniques, such as pirouette and berserker rage or a magical attack. Summon a Wyvern to help you out. Make sure you use the right weapon against you opponent, bludgeon skeletons, pierce golems etc

The game is open ended and the closest I have seen to a PC rpg on the 360. If your a fan of RPG's then you know you have to invest some hours into the title.

I am playing on 37" HDTV with surround sound and I am not that disappointed in the graphics. I have had some issues with crashes but no more than I did with Oblivion.

This game provides a huge explorable map, multiple magic styles, unrestricted character skills a huge amount of underground dungeons to explore and numerous quests in towns and cities that will put you in conflict with cultures in the two worlds universe.

As the only real alternative to Oblivion in the Genre on the 360 I suggest you own both for the different flavours of each game.

I don't regret buying it, neither will you

4.0 out of 5 stars Utopia from Dystopia - Or how to lose the missus, 31 Aug. 2007
I was not really expecting much from this game... I found the Market Place Demo visually stunning but lacking something... Traded in Shadow Run and the Darkness and picked up Bioshock.

8pm - Pop the Game in

Okay... right back to the Demo... the opening welcome and tuturial sequence is the market place demo and I fully expected to to be turning the game of in 30 mins.... at 08.30 in the morning I did manage to turn it off woith some real reluctance.

The graphics are superb and its worth exploring the levels to just to view the detail put into the architecture of the unground city... I mean you occassionly come past shattered aquariums and you have fish twitching in water that drains away... (it even sounds real). Blood pools in the water in a realistic manner.

Play this with HD and Surround sound and you become as immerersed in the game as the City is in the sea.

Ostensibly your helping an NPC rescue his family and are provided destinations to reach. Along the way you will find tape diarys of the inhabitants of the city as you travel. Pick them up and listen as they provide clues or codes and they add to the immersion in the story.

Gene therapy drives this dystopian underworld and as you advance you get to pick up powers... electroshock to overide doors or incinerate to melt ice etc. (incidentally incinerate an enemy and watch them run about setting collegues on fire screaming... very good visually)

Weapons abound, however each weapon has its unique characteristics and up to 4 ammo types. In this game it really matters what weapon you use... take for instance attacking a Big Daddy/Rosie/Elite Bouncer - same class of enemy different levels of aggression and strength - try a machine gun with armour piercing rounds or a shot gun with exploding shells ... aim for the head - it works... fry them them with the napalm and your wasting your time.

You have enemies - spider splicers - who climb the walls an ceilings and move extremely fast.... use a gene therapy slot to boost your speed.

Hack into safe, doors vending machines to get ammo, etc

th enemy AI is really quite good and varies from enemy type to enemy type.

Every element of this game is well thought out and the plot is enjoyable with an engaging storyline with moral options on whether to harvest young people or rescue them....

I tend not to go for games without co-op or online play as the the 360 for me is about sharing our gaming experience with mates but this game is a must to own.

Its not an FPS in the run and gun sense and its not Tomb Raider in the puzzle sense... its a game of its own and you will want to explore the large underground city for the scenery, atmosphere and upgrades... you will definitely need the upgrades as each successive level gives you harder and harder enemies... don't worry though as with a research camera you can take pictures and research each enemy and gain bonus's in attack.

I would be surprised if you complete the game without research and it does make for some tense moments.. more research points for an attacking or enemy ... so camera in hand gun in your belt ... you have to be quick to point and click and then blast away

Buy this !!!
