Byron 1217 Wired Wall Battery Operated Bell Kit - White
Byron 1217 Wired Wall Battery Operated Bell Kit - White
Price: £7.99

5.0 out of 5 stars A traditional bell that does the job very well, 19 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After we decided to replace our wireless bell, we got this and are very happy with it. It was simple to install and as mentioned in other reviews, there is about 5m of wire which is easy to cut down to size. We bought a chrome bell push as the plastic one in this kit is very basic and 2 LR20 / D batteries are required (purchase separately). If you mount it with the bell at the top (as per the instructions), it is loud and can be heard throughout the house. You can also twist the bell to change the volume.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic, high quality set of scales at a reasonable price. Highly recommended, 3 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These are really impressive scales which exceeded my expectations. The quality is superb and they give very clear readings, switching on and giving a reading automatically shortly after you step on. They also look very stylish. I chose these over the 'top selling' memory scales from the same company, as this product doesn't have the memory feature which displays the last stored reading before giving a new reading. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fresh look at the subject of motivation in the modern business world, 10 Sept. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I saw Dan Pink speak at a work conference some time ago and like that talk, "Drive" offers a fresh look at the modern workplace. In this book which explores the subject of motivation, Pink takes a look at classic management thinking, providing food for thought for anyone responsible for leading teams. He draws on a range of academic research and studies to highlight the impact of widely accepted reward systems on motivation. He identifies a "new operating system" which suits the opportunities offered by modern society. Central to his argument is the fact that for some, motivation is driven by autonomy, mastery and purpose, which are explored in detail in dedicated chapters.

The book is well set out and clearly written, with a useful recap at the end, as well as pointers to a range of additional resources. After enjoying this book, I went on to buy some books covering the timeless work of Peter Drucker Essential Drucker (Classic Drucker Collection).

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding landscape photography workshop (in book form), 16 July 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After enjoying several Dawn2Dusk workshops run by Ross Hoddinott and Mark Bauer, I was hoping that the Landscape Photography Workshop book would be equally enjoyable and informative. I was not disappointed and the book combines beautiful and inspiring pictures, with straight forward and clearly presented advice. Having purchased several of Ross' books on previous occasions (Digital Exposure Handbook, The Digital Photographers Guide to Filters: The Complete Guide to Hardware and Software Filtration and Digital Macro Photography), Ross and Mark have produced a well designed and informative "workshop" which take you through a range of considerations from equipment to creative assignments. The quality of the printing and binding is also good.

The chapters cover a comprehensive range of topics: Equipment, Exposure, Composition, Lighting, Filtration, Types of landscape, Advanced Technique, Post-processing, Printing and Creative assignments.

An excellent addition to your bookshelves for photographers of all abilities.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent and inspiring book, 6 Jan. 2010
Ian Cameron's enthusiasm and passion for photography comes across from the outset. His book is probably the best landscape photography book I've purchased, providing insight and inspiration in equal measure. Ian writes in an easy and accessible manner, explaining the fundamental techniques, as well as advice on preparation and getting into the right place at the right time to take stunning shots. He also provides a good number of technical tips and stunning photographs, brought together with some 'field trips' towards the end. Sections of the book cover: Understanding light, When to shoot, Preparation to shoot, Field trips and Post-processing. I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in landscape photography, or improving their photographic technique.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of F-Secure Internet Security 2005, 2 Mar. 2005

I've been using F-Secure for a few months after switching from another AV provider which didn't detect Trojans very well and I'm really happy with the software.
The Internet Security suite consists of:
- Anti-virus software
- Personal firewall
- Anti-spam
- Parental control
- Anti-spyware
The best feature has got to be the anti-virus software and the frequency with which updates are produced and sent out by the virus labs. At a time when some products only update once a week, F-Secure will download updates constantly when you are online. Having worked closely on anti-virus defences myself, generic detection of new viruses and Trojans is also very good. Emails are automatically checked (inbound/outbound) and you can also receive automatic news alerts when new viruses are released on a large scale.
The other features all work well and the anti-spyware component is provided in association with Lavasoft (pro version).
At a time when the number of viruses in circulation is increasing all the time, you can't afford not to invest in decent protection.
