I have this app on an android phone and wanted to add it to my Kindle but was disappointed to find it wasn't compatible. Please enable it, Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars at last!, 31 Oct. 2013

The game everyone plays has come at last to the kindle. I'm just surprised it took so long to be ported across. Can't fault it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game with a few flaws, 2 Nov. 2011
Battlefield 3 is superb! I haven't had so much fun playing a computer game in a very long time. DICE have excelled themselves in producing the Frostbite 2 engine, which powers BF3 - the graphics are mind-bogglingly good and the gameplay is excellent. The controls are fully re-assignable so if the default layout doesn't suit, you can change it - this option is lost on some games.

The browser implementation for selecting games is a bit naff. It's nice to have so many options for the types of server to join - being able to select individual maps, infantry only games, server location, etc. all makes it easier to find the type of game you want to join. However, servers often tend to hover around being full or nearly full, so by the time you select a server and try to join, it may have filled up. This can be a slight irritation.

As yet I've not been kicked from a server or had a game freeze/hang. If this has happened for other people, it would appear to be down to (bad) luck or a problem with their own system.

My only major gripe is that the game, while DICE claim it has been developed primarily for the PC, some of the tips are obviously aimed at console users - "For a tougher experience, try turning auto-aim off".

4.0 out of 5 stars Misadvertised item, 6 Aug. 2011

There's two really good blockbuster disaster movies here and one red herring. I can't say enough good things about Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow - both of these are top notch films. The let-down is The Day The Earth Stood Still because it's not the 1951 classic but the 2008 rehash.

I was disappointed to read Amazon's own review of this box set because they've got the wrong version of TDTESS listed here. A simple glance at the box or looking on any other e-tailer's page shows the correct line-up, the correct version. I had hoped Amazon was right and they were wrong but alas, no.

Especially For You Medley (Showgirl Tour - Live In Sydney)

1.0 out of 5 stars Incorrectly labelled., 18 Jan. 2011
The Showgirl tour didn't make it to Australia, so this song is incorrectly labelled. The "Showgirl" tour was cancelled after the UK dates because Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with cancer. The subsequent tour was called the "Showgirl: Homecoming" tour, which is what this song is taken from.

It's a great song, it was performed excellently but it loses the context without the rest of the songs so I'd recommend not buying this. Buy the album instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars My first HD TV. It's a cracker., 9 May 2010
I bought this last week, direct from Sony, because it's simply a really special TV set. It sports the Bravia 3 engine, internet streaming of video, it syncs with your sony BRD player, if you have one, and that removes the need for a second remote control - great if like me you lose one down the back of the sofa.

However all of these features pale into insignificance against the Freeview HD inclusion. You get free transmissions of BBC HD, ITV HD and C4 HD without having to subscribe to Sky or cable. Just connect your normal TV aerial (check for coverage first!!) and you get this. FREE.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funniest film I saw in 2007, 11 Aug. 2009

I saw Dai-Nipponjin at the Leeds Film Festival and it was my pick of the whole festival. My jaw ached from laughing so hard.

It's a take off from the old Godzilla, Mothra, etc. movies. Our hero takes on the maddest big monsters by making himself their size and then engaging in hand to hand combat. Unfortunately the people of Japan don't like him because of all the damage done to their cities. Half the fun is seeing what people think of him and the other half is the monsters, the fighting.

This film's R2 release has been delayed too long. I want it now!
