JVC HAS160A Flats Foldable Style Stereo Headphones - Blue
Price: 9.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value for money but they are royal blue (!), 14 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Those are very good headphones, sturdy and the sounds is excellent. Great value for money.
My only complain is that the image isn't very accurate... My headphones turned out to be intense midnight or royal blue not pale cornflower / sky blue a pictured.

Lovely, easy to apply dye and gives beautiful medium brown colour with yellow undertones (photo uploaded to the gallery).

As it is solvent borne it does smell strong while applied but the scent is gone within hours.

Fully recommended.

Men Rock Cut Throat Shavette
Men Rock Cut Throat Shavette

Price: 9.25

3.0 out of 5 stars Review from man's point of view ( with photos on how to load the blade)., 6 April 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is what my husband has said after testing this shavette:

It looks ok and works fine. Obviously at that price it's there's not much to say about the workmanship.

It's a bit narrow which means when I grip it there's a slight wobbliness. I'd be happier if it were slightly bit wider/thicker.

Fitting the blades can be fiddly, but that's a problem with most shavettes with this "type" of loading mechanism, it almost never loads properly so you end up having to push down on the back (or front) of the blade. However once loaded it can produce a good shave. Not bad, but there are much better shavettes out there.

Added some pics to the gallery because I suspect some people buying this might have problems loading the blade...

Angela Nicely
Angela Nicely
by Alan MacDonald
Edition: Paperback
Price: 4.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny, engaging, quick-witted chapter book for girls..., 4 April 2014
This review is from: Angela Nicely (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
"Angela Nicely" is funny, very engaging and quick-witted story of a little girl who is quite an opposite of her surname.

Angela always gets herself and others into trouble and she is very stubborn, too... She always knows best just like when she was sure her teacher is wearing a wig and refused to give up proving she was right.

"Angela Nicely" is a chapter book but once you start it is hard to stop reading it. My 8 years old daughter did read the whole book in one go and loved it.

It is published as paper back with quite large fonts and lots of lovely b&w drawings.

Princess Stay Awake (Picture Books)
Princess Stay Awake (Picture Books)
by Giles Paley-Phillips
Edition: Paperback
Price: 5.53

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb, adorable, funny - must read for any family with small children., 28 Mar 2014
Giles Paley-Phillips is also an author of famous "Fearsome Beastie" and "Tamara Small and The Monsters' Ball" which we have loved and read many, many times. But the "Princess Stay Awake" is even closer to our hearts... the little princess Layla on her scooter is just like our 3 years old who is never tired and can never fall asleep.

Parents unsuccessfully try all kinds of tricks to make Layla fall asleep, but even the little stubborn princess can be outsmarted by the right person... and this is where grandmothers come handy (!) Super book, must read for any family with small children, I'm sure they would find this utterly adorable and funny, as we do.

Hedgehugs

Edition: Paperback
Price: 5.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely adorable story of two hedgehogs, longing for a hug and solved mystery of missing socks., 28 Mar 2014
This review is from: Hedgehugs (Paperback)
So now everything is clear... the mystery has been solved, we all finally know where all those missing socks go (!) This is absolutely adorable story of two hedgehogs: Horace & Hattie who were longing for a hug together but being so prickly could never have it and finding their way out of this difficult (and scratchy) situation.
Brilliant writing and extremely cute illustrations which both my girls (3 & 8 years old) loved. They just could not get enough of this book...

The Black and White Club (Picture Books)
The Black and White Club (Picture Books)
by Alice Hemming
Edition: Paperback
Price: 4.49

5.0 out of 5 stars Smart tale about feeling left out... and mean penguins!, 28 Mar 2014
Very smart tale about George the giraffe who not being black or white has felt left out when he would not join the club set up by the penguins. After several tries he came out with brilliant plan to unite all of the animals and have fun together... except for the mean penguins who stuck to playing dominoes.

My girls loved the story and cute, detailed illustrations, especially the spider drinking his lemonade through the stripy straw.

World Search - Incredible Animals
by Lonely Planet
Edition: Hardcover
Price: 7.99

5.0 out of 5 stars From wild tigers in Indian Jungle, through cute Antarctica's penguins to pampered pets of Hollywood., 23 Mar 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Great book for kids, just like all other Lonely Planet's publications we own.

Both of my girls: 3 and 8 years old enjoy reading this book over and over again.
The older one actually reads it while the younger one looks at the pictures and asks questions but the two of them equally and love to lift the flaps (!)

The book is sturdy, made out of cardboard and includes sheet of stickers to use outside of the book, kids adore stickers so this is another plus.

Each page is filled with detailed illustrations making it very engaging and something that kids like to come back to and discover new things each time.

The incredible animals book include habitats in: Egypt's Red Sea, Antarctica, Australian Outback, Indian Jungle, South American Andes, Serengeti in Tanzania and Hollywood in USA where lots of strange pampered pets live...
