5.0 out of 5 stars Oh shes always brilliant Oh Land, 25 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Wishbone (Audio CD)
A more minimal/raw sound to some songs [3 chances, Love you better]compared to Fauna or her self titled album yet her fun quirky sound is still present throughout[Pyromaniac, My boxer] two opening tracks are particularly wonderful! but everything she does is awesome and glittery to me! :-D

being a devoted fan of lifehouse for a decade, having seen them perform twice (third time will be in febuary)I can truly say they have taken all the best parts of their sound over the years and put it into Smoke and Mirrors theres something for everyone pop/rock,R&B,Americana, ballad, classic rock its all there, there is never a dull minute in this album. the bonus track are well worth the extra money too.
Would highly recommend this too anyone of any age!!

4.0 out of 5 stars really rather wonderful, 11 Oct. 2009
This review is from: The Art Thief (Paperback)
This book sparked an interest with the mention of Carravaggio (an artist Ive studied) and the National Gallery ( one of the best gallery's Ive been to) I havent read a book in a while, because I always end up disinterested in the plots after a couple of chapters, but being both a student and an enthusiast of Art History I thought it was worth giving this book a go and it paid off, I found that I liked the way it was written all the characters are quite funny especially Lagourges and Bizot the pair had me laughing throughout.
I enjoyed the Art references I even learnt a few things about certain artists and paintings which was fun, although I will say at points I found it hard to follow Charney does seem to bog down the writing in some areas but overall this ended up being the perfect book Im very glad I took the time to read it! the ending was ingenious very surprising

5.0 out of 5 stars Suprisingly great album!!, 27 Aug. 2009
This review is from: Do You Know [Us Import] (Audio CD)
I was looking for some new music browsing cd charts etc and came across this and I thought I'd give it a go! Im becoming a bit of a country music convert (due mainly to the awesomeness that is Rascall Flatts) and I already owned one of her other albums so I was at least familiar with her stuff, I thought her music was ok, nice upbeat, goood time music..... but this, this took me totally off guard, really enjoyed it even with my first listen, and I think its a very welcomed departure from her pop music. Her country music goes down a treat!! its very well done.Has sort of a relaxing-on-a-sunday-morning sound to it...
good on ya Jessica!! I'd say. Would definately recommend this.
