5.0 out of 5 stars A great album for music-lovers, 21 May 2005
This review is from: 1 2 3 Soleils (Audio CD)
You don't have to be a Khaled, Taha or Faudel fan to like this CD. You don't even need who know who they are or what they sing. But if you are a genuine music fan, then this album is a must. They sing a combination of all three singers' songs (such as Aicha, Didi and ya rayah) and incorpreate deep retro Algerian music sounds and style ith western styles such as funk and reggae. It all comes together in a beatiful harmony (they had over 36 musicians to accompany them) in what must have been a thrilling concert.
What adds to that atmosphere is that it is taken from a live concert in a sell-out arena in Paris. Overall this is an all-time great, must-by CD.

3.0 out of 5 stars Old sounds with familiar twist, 21 May 2005
I am an avid Khaled fan. I own many albums, and, if you have never heard of Khaled or are haven't previously bought an album then this isn't for you. Many of the songs follow a distinctive Raï roots sound, which to many Westerners will be hard to listen to. Tracks 1-7 incorporate many western techniques with retro raï sounds and are very good, however i fear that this album is only really worth buying if you are a huge fan of Khaled and his earlier works. If not, then buy some of his other albums which are all fantastic, such as: Sahra, N'ssi N'ssi, Khaled, Ya rayi and the best of all 1,2,3 soleils (a live concert with two other reat raï musicians.
