5.0 out of 5 stars HP eStation - nice!, 4 May 2011
I love this printer!

The plain paper printing is fast and as good as you can get on an inkjet (and that's pretty good). It prints in duplex mode too automatically (if you want it to).

The photo printing is brilliant quality.

Scanning seems to be up to 4800dpi (not the 1200 as stated in the specs) and is pretty good quality. You scan from a control panel on your PC.

Copying is good too, you do that from the printer directly.

The ePrint service works really well - you are given an e-mail address, send an e-mail to this address and it prints the contents. You have to register first though (it's free). You can have a permitted senders list as well (or anyone).

I haven't tried the eFax service - I can't remember the last time anyone even mentioned the word.

The Zeen, that's the wireless control panel, an Android tablet about three times the size of an iPhone - is neat looking but a little slow - not too bad though. A little complex yes but I set it to show the weather, news feeds and a clock on the home screen all within a couple of minutes - nice just sitting there. It has e-mail, a web browser and a few other apps too.

It has an SD card slot in the Zeen for direct printing and a USB port if you want to connect to a PC directly (you don't need to - even the setup works over wireless). The Zeen has a separate USB socket.

It doesn't have an Ethernet network port though as stated on the Amazon spec.

Overall setup is a doddle - just follow the BIG instruction page. Really easy, pretty quick (for HP!) and I've installed this on two Win 7 machines and an Apple Macbook Pro with no hiccups at all.

It comes with 5 setup cartridges - not sure how much ink is in them but sounds like not as much as the standard ones!

The printer feels solid and robust, better even than a lot of older HP printers and looks good too.

So all in all a great printer - don't buy this just for the Zeen though (why would you?).

5.0 out of 5 stars Engrossing, 13 Jan. 2007
This is great - OK so I can't play on the top settings (it's designed for the future, all bar Mr Gates himself on a gazillion co-processor system can't run this at top graphics!) but even on low to mid settings it works fine and is really great graphically so don't get put off. BUT ... bear in mind I do have a decent gaming machine I have to admit (Athlon 64 X2 4800, dual core, 2GB RAM, ATI Radeon X19000XT - for any geeks out there like me).

The missions are fun and engageing and the training first class. Flying the big jets is truly amazing.

The only thing I would say is: don't try playing this without a joystick - I did, then bought a Saitek Evo Force two days later! (the force bit is worth it if you can afford the extra cash and it is a 5 star joystick too)

5.0 out of 5 stars So you wanted to scratch-build a car?, 29 Mar. 2004
If, like me, you thought the plastic models, even the expensive ones, were not up to museum quality and you want to build one from scratch but didn't know where to start - then this is probably the best book you can buy. Mr Wingrove covers every topic you need with hundreds of illustrations. The detail he puts into the cars is almost unbelievable and he uses many different materials in the making.
It doesn't take you though building a single car but shows you all the techniques he used with examples from many cars. Don't expect to be able make a car by following this book as that's not what this is about, it's more about giving you insight into his many years of model engineering and tips and methods for each component (and just about all of them are covered from the tyres - yes they are silicon rubber compound and cast - to the door catches on a Ferrari - yes they really work!).
If you just like model engineering or scale model cars then this won't disappoint, a fantastic book from an amazing engineer, I could not put it down.
