4.0 out of 5 stars good, lengthy and enjoyable, 13 Jan. 2013
This review is from: Promise To Keep (Kindle Edition)
A heartwarming interracial romance which i enjoyed. The previous reviewer has gone into the detail so i wont say much except that the story gave you time to know the characters although i did think that it went into a bit too much detail with all the characters in the book especially those who non-important. other than that an enjoyable read and money well spent.

4.0 out of 5 stars good scifi/romance story, 13 Jan. 2013
An interesting read. Good concept and i enjoyed the story. I have read the other two books in the trilogy and enjoyed those too. However did find the heroine to be a bit annoying at times but overall a good read and worth my money.

1.0 out of 5 stars I don't say this often but please do not bother, 1 Dec. 2012
Dont bother buying the book. It is about as long as an excerpt if even that. It starts and then just suddenly finishes no ending at all and you are left with a what the heck feeling. Dont get me wrong the few pages that are there lead you to believe that you might be reading a good book but then suddenly it ends. It took me all of 5-10 minutes from start to end and even though it only cost £1 something it is still not worth the price. I'm speechless at what I have just read, words can't describe it. Actually, yes they can "Craptastic". Save your money on this one, the author should be ashamed of themselves for even daring to put this out for any price. If the book were free I would say save yourself the download time. I sound bad but honestly I am too shocked to wrap my review up in sugar, my review is probably longer than this book and has a conclusion. Disappointing to say the least.

3.0 out of 5 stars A film that could be a little scary in places for young children, 4 Jan. 2012
My just turned 4yr old son watched this film and had crying hysterics at the near begining of the film when diesel nearly fell off the track due to some (wierd) selfish behaviour. I had to get his diesel train for him and act out rescuing him before he was comforted. Odd yes and it could just be mine that was really scared but anyone buying this DVD should be aware that it can be scary in places for some small children. Anyway, after that drama he enjoyed the film very much. He has watched it since and now is not scared when, as we have termed it in my family, the dieselgate incident occurs. The very ending of the film was in my opinion extemely confusing, for wont of a better word a train i shall refer to as dieselmort pops up cackles to himself and mumbles about gaining soldor. This is probably the intro to the next movie but i feel that there was no need for it. For starters it could be a little scary for young children and secondly i kept expecting the engine to whip out a cape and stroke a non-existent pointy mustache, my 13yr old who was also watching the film was in stitches. Overall a film enjoyed by my son.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Straighteners at a Great price, 7 July 2011
Before i start this review i have to say that i used these straighteners on natural afo hair. With any straighteners it is important that you use a heat protection product and that you regularly deep condition your hair to bring back the elasticity lost from straightening. If your not doing this then you really can't rate a product such as this on its performance because either you'll end up burning your hair (heat protection products people) or mess up your natural hair because you fail to nourish it on a proper basis. That being said, as a person who has owned GHD's and currently owns a Cloud Nine wide iron i have to say that this is a great product. It glides nicely through the hair and the ajustable temprature is great. When straightening the hair from a fresh wash and blow dry i had to use the straighteners on the highest heat (remebering that i am straightening natural afro hair and not european hair). After doing the whole head, using this normal width straightner and using small sections of the hair at a time enabled me to get an excellent result without any accidential misshaps such as the dreaded burn. I then went over the hair again using very large sections of hair with my wide iron. This gave the hair the finishing touch and completely flatened down any stray split ends (and yes i know after my rant at the begining of this review you would think that split ends would not dare to show up but hey, they are what they are and believe it or not some people's hair can be prone to them no matter what triming and expensive hairdressing routines take place especially if your hair is curly as the very act of brushing or combing the hair goes against the natural curl and hence split ends. The end result if i do say so myself was great and there was many a question as to which salon was the hair was done at and if i had the number handy (of course i did, the hairdresser was called my home and the stylist called H2D). Seriously, the hair was great, free flowing bouncy and shiny. The straighteners themselves heated up in no time, under 1 minute and the cool down time was about 5-8 minutes. I have to admit that the straighteners came with no heat mat or heat protecter to put over the straighteners when finished and this was a little dissapointing but i have a heat mat already so this was no problem and at the price of these compared to GHD's and Cloud Nines, these things are easily purchased and you have still saved a bunch of money. I know that when my wide irons give up the good fight i will be purchasing H2D wide irons. With regards to european hair, my friend has already borrowed these irons and using heat protection and a lower heat has accomplished shiny great hair that any GHD or cloud nine enthusiast would be proud. It was very loreal (because she's worth it, que the almighty head flick). Unlike me she had no need to go over with a wide iron but thats different hair textures for you and the adjustable heat on the irons is a godsend. This product is great i do reccomend it and the price is very reasonable, in fact looking at the price of the H2D wide irons and the H2D MK5, together they come up to the price of 1 Cloud Nine irons. As i said i'm very pleased with these straighteners and all going well (2 year warranty - all good ) will be purchasing these again when i am in need.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good game for young kids, 2 Feb. 2009
I bought this game for my nephew for Christmas and he enjoys playing it very much (he is five) the games to be played are simple but with a level of difficulty that he has been unable to master them all. The game has helped his hand eye co-ordination which i think most games with the DS where you use the stylus will do that. Anyway an enjoyable easy game that needs very little adult interaction in order for a young child to play with.

5.0 out of 5 stars This game is great, 27 Dec. 2007
I am her daughter aged 9.

I thought that the game was really great because you have different adventures with the different characters and they really like it when you pet them and they talk to you a lot. However one of the characters gets really cranky when you dont feed them and you need to look after them good.

In the game you have four characters stich, dory, simba and pooh. You get each one as you become a gaurdian and get a pin. Each character has their own day in which different things happen to them for example on thursday it is stitch's sandwich day which means on that day he is really hungary and you get to feed pudge the fish at the beach with stitch.

You go through different stages with each character such as just met, aquaintence, buddies, good pals and best friends.

On your first day you get a training day with a little alien from buzz lightning and tinkerbell shows you around. Each character has their own special game like stitch has a game called distructive and pooh has a honey pot game and dory has a guessing game and simba has a pouncing game.

I really enjoy this game because you get to play with different characters from different movies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic - Absolute Treasure - Take the time to read, 7 Jan. 2007
This review is from: VULNERABLE (Paperback)
I enjoyed reading this book very much so much so that it left me waiting like a loon by my front door for the postman for the next instalment which is called Wounded.

The book itself is about a young woman called Corey and her introduction into the world of the fey, which believe or not are right underneath her nose in her small Northern Calafornia town. The book has numerous other world creatures such as shape shifters, elves, vampires and goblins to name but a few. Following such traditions as Sookie Stackhouse, Anita Blake and others, Cory has to face a variety of supernatural incidents including love and the ups and downs that comes with this.

I was expecting to dislike the fact that each chapter in the book represents the point of view of a particular character in that moment in time. However, if i had bet a million pounds on this i would be dirt poor (not that i have that sort of money). The style of the book added to its overall effect and was most enjoyable to read.

Each character in the book is different, has their own style, personality and voice. Yet how author Amy Lane has interweaved them leads to a strong cast that supports one another. You can detect influences from such authors as Laurel K Hamilton but these are subtle and very few and are just that, influences.

My only problem is the editing in the book which at times is just terrible (Typos). However as author Amy Lane does not have an editor i will say well done. Do not be put off by the fact that the book has editing errors in it because the story is, to simply put it, just wonderful.

The characters are deep and evolve (Especially in the next book Wounded which i have also read). The book is filled with humour, suspense, heartache, love and just all over greatness.

I strongly recommend that each reader take a trip with this new author. I for one, can not wait for the next installment of this series.
