5.0 out of 5 stars Nice DVD....LNER livery, 25 May 2016
Bought in a charity shop so I had my doubts....but I must say this is very well made video of the loco in the apple green LNER livery before the present BR livery and when it was running out of Southal West London.

Presented by the staff who actually work with the loco and not some stuffy rail buff who a never got dirty on a loco footplate.

Some great shots of the loco running fron the driver's eye.

Nice little book giving the history of George Bradshaw and his now famous time tables, guides and companions. If you can get your hands on a similar book written in 1939 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the the first Bradshaw it really complements this book. The history of the early Bradshaws from 1839 to 1850 is complicated; I have an 1839 No.3, 1840 and 1842 timetable/companion and even after reading all available info, the little books vary from book to book as people pasted updates etc.....but this makes them very interesting and collectable.

If you like early railway history you will not be disappointed. Top marks.

Lovely film and all credit to BFI and Channel 4 for showing you can make a quality film on a low budget.

I love the beautiful Wiltshire settings and the beautiful English garden and the charming formal English language that the gentry spoke in the late Stuart period.

Sorry but I would rather spend time in front of the fire with a cup of tea in hand watching this film than CGI epic film on an intergalactic battle to save Princess Zogg on the planet Zanussi.

Very informative book. Deals with more of the civil engineering aspect of railways rather than the locos which I feel is overlooked when it comes to railways. PS I am a chartered civil engineer.

I love this BB Korn model car. I'm over 50 and I got it as my birthday/Chismas present as they are in December. When I opened the box it was just like being a seven year old again!

It is nice to have something that is made from alloy, brass etc just like the real thing and the build, weight and finish of the car is superb.

I think for a quality product, it is well worth the cost.

I saw a documentary over 20 years ago about Disney's battle with PL Travers over getting the rights to the film and how she felt about how a film portrays a writers view of how the characters should be.

I think the film captures this very well and is one of the best film made in the last few years in my humble opinion.

Nice to see a film without CGI but just good actors and first class script and acting.

Very good documentary. You can give a few little mistakes in the narration, the computer visualisation is better than any book, and I have a book (Stanier Clark) from 1810 describing the battle. Yes if you want an in depth account of officers killed etc buy a book, a DVD will always tell a complicated event in an hour....definitely worth buying plus Michael Portillio's DVD as well.

Very good read. Written by the men that actually took part at the time and not some 21st century view point. The descriptions of the battle are grim but reading the various accounts from different people is fascinating using the Georgian precise way of describing events.

After visiting the battle site last year and understanding the size of the battle field, reading this book makes what happened there more real.
