3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not enough finger foods, 16 Jan. 2007
The recipes are quite good, but like one of the other reviewers, I found that I could already adapt some of the foods we normally eat to make casseroles etc for my daughter. On the other hand, at 11 months, my daughter doesn't want to be spoon fed but wants to pick up all of the food and feed herself. The book has a few recommendations for good finger foods, but what I really need are simple, nutritious finger foods that, preferably, can be made and frozen ahead of time and easily reheated (unlike some of her fishcakes which can only be frozen before frying - I'm not going to be frying up fishcakes with an 11 month old underfoot in the kitchen)

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as That's Not My Lion, 27 Sept. 2006
I bought That's not my Lion and That's not my Train. On the whole, they're great, but the Lion one seems much more interesting for my daughter (8 months) - I think because it has fluffy and furry bits. There's probably not so much scope for good textures with trains and as a result, this book is not as interesting.

4.0 out of 5 stars On the whole, very good, 26 Jun. 2006
I bought this book before the birth of my first baby (now 4.5 months old) and have found it to be a very useful guide. My only complaint would be that it can make you feel like a bit of a failure if your baby doesn't behave in the exact way set out or respond to its suggested fixes. Now that I look back on the early weeks, I think that the routines it sets out are excellent to aim for, but I shouldn't have beaten myself up so much when my baby didn't always follow them - she tended to grow into some of them.
