5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning writing, 2 Sept. 2011
AS the reviews state this runs in parallel to book 4 and brings in John Snow, Tywin Lannister and other back to the story. The standard of writting is second to none, very descriptive and still as blood thirsty as ever in what happens with characters. The complex plots and political intrigue are kept up to date but I have found if tricky over such a long period of reading to remember all the elements and who is where and when. George does a great job in keeping you updated and reminding of who and what has happened.

Over all a stunning volume I juts hope we don't have to wait two three years for the next volume....

The Wise Man's Fear: The Kingkiller Chronicle: Book 2
The Wise Man's Fear: The Kingkiller Chronicle: Book 2
by Patrick Rothfuss
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars Wise man's Fear Kingkiller, 3 July 2011
This is the second book in the series. I enjoyed the first which was well written and kept me gripped throughout. Kovthe is now into his second day of telling his story to the Chronicler... lots of short stories are packed in, with some great narrative and insites into the various characters. I enjoy the style....... much more descriptive than Raymost E feist....but not as complex as Stephen Donaldson... For me Patrick Rothfuss is one of the best current authors in the fantasy genre...I love Trudy Cannavan but Patrick shows more depth in his style with some great moments of humour..

If you have not tried him do so if you are into fantasy......I am looking forward the to final day and will certainly have it on preorder.... I deliberately give nothing of the story away yourmuch read and decide for yourself

by Trudi Canavan
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars The lead Fantasy writer around, 3 Oct. 2010
Trudi is the best current fantasy author.....This book is well written with great insights of the characters...There are touches of Raymond R Feist's Jimmy the hand in her thieves characters....make sure you read the black magician series first to get the characters backgounds...but can be read without. I am alread looking forward to the rest of the series

Definately a Karen Miller fan. This book started were the prodigal mage finished to finally kill off Morg. The book kept me gripped, however I felt that the whole story was really a single book stetched into two volumes.buy it and enjoy........
