Works very fast with USB 3.0 when transferring files to and from my Macbook. The cheapest 128GB stick on Amazon (right now) and it works great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sensitive! But great once balanced., 23 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The Steadicam Merlin 2 comes in a nice case which can be carried by handle or over the should with the included shoulder strap making it easy to transport around safely.

-Build Quality:
The Merlin 2 is quite a rugged piece of equipment that should last a lifetime if looked after properly. It folds away in a very compact design making it fit into a small bag or my preferred way to carry it is to fold it and attach it to the outside of my camera bag. The adjustments are not too tight in my opinion, they need to have slight stiffness to stop them from turning easily, because the slightest adjustments make a difference.

The Steadicam Merlin 2 is not the easiest to set up, there are guides on the Merlin Cookbook page but the Merlin 2 is still very lacking, but it's easy just to use the Merlin 1's references and take it from there.
Something you will notice is it's pretty sensitive! When you balance the Merlin 2 you want to make sure it is ready to be used, meaning the on/off switch is set to on, the lens cap is removed, lens focal length set, card in, battery in etc.

A great thing about the setup is all the reference points on the Merlin 2 which you can note, share and look up for future reference. Once you have a particular setup balanced you can just make note of all the points it's set to, making for quick setup later.

The Steadicam Merlin 2 is a good piece of kit to have. However for around the same price you can pick up a Glidecam HD 4000 which allows you to shoot upside down relatively easy. It's another option to consider for a similar price bracket, but they don't seem very easy to come by in the UK, which is why I chose the Steadicam Merlin 2.

Overall I am pleased with the purchase and it is a great option to get those steady shots, because if balanced correctly; you will! It's worth the effort.

But seriously, this thing is amazing!
I first heard one when I was at a festival abroad and you really have to hear this thing to realise how good it is.
If you stick this on a good surface then it really will pump out some big bass and sounds!
I've used it at home on the wooden fireplace, on a pane of glass works really well, anything works really! Even on my bathrooms tiled floor it pumps out some heavy bass!
Also in terms of volume, it can go LOUD. I think when its plugged into my macbook, if I put it to full it'd probably go so loud it'd blow.

5.0 out of 5 stars If your serious about your music, 15 Aug. 2010

Well my old Shure headphones finally bit the dust when I put em through the washing machine :(
They did last me a fair few years though so I thought not such a bad thing, time for an upgrade. Immediately I didnt need to go browsing around to see which were the best, I already knew who made the best headphones, Shure!

Yes they are pricey, but I can fully justify paying £100 for a pear of headphones because these things really do last forever (unless you put them in a washing machine).
Shures are built to last. As soon as you open the box you can see the quality your paying for. The cables are thick and strong and can also detatch into two so you can extend them/prevent a breakage from them being caught on something.

But of course the most important bit (other than comfort), the sound quality. Well if you've used Shure's before then you'll know what to expect. There nothing short of brilliant. These things are designed for professionals on stage. The isolation is second to none. once these go in, you cant hear a thing with your music playing, your in your own little world.

The clarity is brilliant, every little frequency can be heard with a deep rich soft bass running beneath it all. All this comes together perfectly to give you a 360 degree sensation of sound whizzing round your brain!

One last thing is comfort. not everyone likes canal earphones, but personally I dont have a problem with them, never have. But I will say these are the comfiest ive ever used. Just make sure to wear them properly by having the cable go over your ear so you dont end up wearing them upside down (believe me I watched a professional video review a while back where they complained about the comfort whilst unaware they were wearing them completely wrong!)

All in all. Is the price worth it? Well, yes. Yes it is. So if you want something that sounds great and will last and is comfortable. Go for professional quality. With Shure, you will always find this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wowee., 15 Aug. 2010
This review is from: Kryptonite (Audio CD)
Well i've been a fan of DJ Fresh for many years now wayy before he became popular.
I do like his new direction where he has become more commercial, the new sounds are great.

With much anticipation i finally managed to get myself a copy of this album a little early.
I expected something brilliant. When track one began playing I said to myself, wow.

Right off the bat your hit with a sensation of rush as your carried into the world of DJ Fresh. Thats just track one, the rest does not disappoint either.
There is a kind of split. 50% which is very mainstream like his new sounds like Golddust and Hypercaine. Then theres some that a little more true to his old way such as Acid Rain.

All in all a great album wether your not familiar with DJ Fresh already but a fan of liquid and mainstream Drum & Bass such as Pendulum then this should be to your liking. Also if your a fan of fresh already, but not his new sound, you may not like this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoughts based on the Demo., 29 Aug. 2009
This review is from: WET (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
Well, firstly i read a review about this game and thought hmm, this sounds kinda fun, so i went and watched the trailers for it, watching the trailers i thought wow that does looks quite cool but will it really work like that when your playing it?...

Yes it does to put it shortly.

i have played through the demo multiple times now and i must say its the the most fun ive had on a game in a long time, when i saw the trailer i thought the graphics look abit rubbish but the game looks good, which is true, its not a graphical wonder but to be honest i couldnt care less, ive never been the sort of person that would dismiss a game based on its graphics like a lot of people i know.

The gameplay is supurb i would give it an easy 10 out of 10 because it just works so well. I am hoping its not going to be like Mirrors Edge kind of where the demo was great but i felt a little dissapointed with the game, the same with a film, you see the trailer but when you watch the film, the trailer had the good parts in.

I am confident that the game will be good however.

It really feels like playing in a Quentin Tarantino film, when you watch the movie style trailer, it is just like watching a trailer for one of his Grindhouse films it really is.

Basically i would highly reccomend it, it is a fast paced, constant high action adrenaline filled game that never stops going (fast), the developers even said, basically in this game, if you stop, you die. All the action and combos such as diving, wall running and sliding while shooting or using the sword along with the music it just feels right.

Go and download the demo from Xbox Live/Playstation Network and give it a go, im sure you will not be dissapointed.

Overall /10:

Nokia N97 Sim Free Mobile Phone - Black
Nokia N97 Sim Free Mobile Phone - Black

2.0 out of 5 stars Doesnt Justify Its Price tag, 16 Aug. 2009
I bought the latest offering from Nokia with high hopes as Nokia's phones are usually flawless in my opinion.

However i was very dissapointed with the N97 and decided to sell it.

I have heard from a lot of people that it is rubbish so i am safe in the knowledge that its not just my device.

Okay so the build of the phone is great, its strong and sturdy and looks very nice. But thats about it. Its a rubbish phone is a good shell.

The operating system on it is very dated and is the same as what Nokia has been using now for about 4 years. This may be good for some people however as it is easy to use with its basic menus and functions. But i feel when paying such a high price tag for such a hign end model id expect it to at least occasionaly "wow" me with the way it looks and performs.

My next issue is the performance. I have ended up missing about 30% of my recieved calls (and im a heavy user) because when i try to unlock it using the unlock button on the side it just seems to do a wierd action sometimes where the screen will flash on in wierd resolutions or just blank and the ringtone will start and stop untill the phone finally unlocks to answer the call to display the "missed call" message.

Also when i recieve a text, i will click the reply button and then open the keyboard to begin typing and usually have to wait a couple of seconds for the screen to rotate and start responding. Not a major flaw i guess but like i said before, when you pay so much for a phone (mine was £350, they now sell for £280 - £300) you do not expect to have flaws like this.

On the plus side (cause its not all bad!) the touch screen is very responsive and feels good, the phone is strong and sturdy and seems like its made to last. The sound quality is good and the camera is very good. Its just like the one on the N95 if your familiar with it. So its great to take pictures, the dual led flash is okay but would be much better with a xenon flash. Also something i am going to miss about the phone very much is the video capture. the phone records at 30 frames per second and in 16:9 widescreen. The quality is great but the audio is not as good, but its not rubbish by all means.

The keyboard is a good feature to have in a phone i feel these days. The keyboard for the N97 is good, but not that good. Its a little small and the keys dont feel too great to press as they dont have much feeling to them so its can be easy to miss type (unlike the HTC Touch Pro 2's). It has a learning curve as i was not that productive using it ti start with but after a week or two you can be using it at good speeds.

Overall it is not too bad of a phone it just doesnt seem to justify itself in its price catagory. The operating system is dated, the hardware isnt powerful enough to make it perform quickly or even normally in some cases and theres just not much to it other than an okay keyboard and a good camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bass! Great Sound..., 25 Jan. 2007
First of all the people who are saying that there is no good bass quality obviously are not wearing there headphones correctly.

Lets get started...

-I opened the packet up with my Ipod playing already, as i first put them into my ears the sound was very tinny, but once those rubber canals filled the inside of my ear, a rush of great bass sound rushed through my ears.

-Having said that, it is abit of a fiddle to get the correct bass sound from them. You will find that you have to move them about in your ears quite abit to get the right sound, but once you achieve this fitment you will be very happy with your purchase.

-These have replaced my very old ipod headphones, since then i have used sony headphones and some other unamed brands, and these are a vast improvement.

-The one wire longer than the other thing is abit strange but if you put the longer one around behind your neck you will find that it is quite comftey and it will not flail around when you walk without them in your ears.

-Also when you have these inserted into your ears correctly you will be in your own world, you cannot hear anything going on around you really, its great.

-The volume is not much higher than that of the Ipod headphones, but because of the outside noise blocking this is not an issue.

So it is up to you, but i would reccomend these headphones, they are excellent value for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars How Can People Say Bad Things!?!?, 25 Sept. 2006
This review is from: F.E.A.R. (PC CD) (Video Game)
Its Amazing Game!!!!

The graphics are clearly very good as long as you got a good gcard, the soft shadowing is the best shadows ive seen (and i am a huge Half Life fan, and own them all) but this is very close to the greatness of Half Life id say.

The AI is very complex and very smart,

The weapons are amazing, the way dust flys off walls and paperwork can fly about and everything is amazing.

And i would say the ghost scenes are quite tense and scary.

Overall a very good, fun to play game.

Would definatly reccomend buying it.
