1.0 out of 5 stars Severly disappointed with this, 11 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Severly disappointed with this. I have Hohner harmonicas and thought I would try a Lee Oskar in D. After all the positive reviews I was surprised that when I played it, it sounded like a toy. The comb is plastic, compared to my Hohner Crossover and Marine band deluxe, and it looks cheaply made. I play my harmonicas with my acoustic guitar and the Lee Oskar is a very poor match compared to the Hohners I have. So I dont quite understand how there are so many positive reviews on the LEE, I guess its a personal thing, but I do not like them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Contradicting stability descriptions-Error????, 28 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
So far I found the AFE series quite good, however in this book there appears to be confusing statements on pages PF28 to page PF31. On page 25 it seems to have the correct analysis of the three planes of movement, ie Pitch around the lateral axis, roll around the longitudinal axis and yaw around the vertical axis. However on the very next page I was completely thrown when it went into the detailed description of pitch by saying "stability in pitch is known as the "longitudinal stability". It then goes on in the next few pages PF31 describing roll as "lateral stability" apparently contrary to what was said on page PF27. As a student this was very confusing to say the least , as far as I can tell (through further investigation), Page PF 27 is correct and the following pages PF28-Pf31 appear contradictory. I think what is being said is Pitch rotates AROUND the lateral axis and Pitch stability occurs ALONG the Longitudinal axis, likewise Roll rotates around the Longitudinal axis and roll stability occurs ALONG the Lateral axis. I think? This could have been explained better for students like me trying to get to grips with the science for the PPL. Other than that I think they are a good series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Plastic watering can, 21 Feb. 2014

A handy can for getting in amongst the seedlings and small flowers without damaging them. The only negative comment, which seems to be a common one, is it is a bit pricey for a small piece of moulded plastic.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and not so cheerful, 9 Feb. 2014

First time I have wired one of these connectors. It is mighty fiddly to connect the wires to the screw type mini clamps. So much so that I was not confident the wire would stay in place. I used mains stranded wire which in effect could not be held by the tiny screws, they just got pushed out when tightening the screw. In the end I removed the pins, which are connected to the screw clamps, and soldered the wire to the screw. This can ONLY be done after removing the pin from the plastic holder, otherwise the heat required to solder will melt the plastic. At least this produced a better hold that the tiny screws. A reasonable connection can be made with a lot of effort and some preplanning but overall not very good quality, but what can you expect at this price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value, 24 Dec. 2013

I like this very much. I bought it to look at electronic circuit boards on equipment. It works well on several levels. The item can be used in conjunction with your normal glasses ( if you wear them), the LED light helps to illuminate the area you are looking at ( in those dark little corners, and you have both hands free). There is a fixed binocular magnifying lens which can be added to with another binocular lens which is normally held up with a spring loaded mount. You just flip it down, where it clicks into place to hold it there. I have not had need for the loupe magnifier, which is only monocular. The headband is adjustable plastic, which is reasonably comfortable. The only issue I have is that although you can flip the whole contraption up out of the way whilst its on your head, the screws on the side have to be hand turned very tight, otherwise it just falls down again. I modified mine with some metal washers instead of the plastic ones supplied, which helped a bit. Apart from this it is a great help to anyone who needs hands free magnification on a budget.

1.0 out of 5 stars AWful production., 12 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Where do I begin.

This most annoying thing about this is the constant ( and I mean constant) lights shining straight at you the viewer. Every part of the film , for some reason, either has a static background light or an actor shining alight at you the viewer. You know how annoying it is if someone in real life shines a torch in you eyes, well imagine that for an hour and more. I suspect the lighting is to mask the crap set made for the film. Typical american style jingoism with a poor script.

I think this was supposed to be made as a pilot for a mini series but did not get past even the pilot so they must have decided to market it as a film to cover up the fact it was badly reviewed.

Poor casting with some bad acting. The Blu ray is pointless because the definition is so poor it looks like a grainy black and white film in places.

Best place for this film is at a boot sale.
