4.0 out of 5 stars Too hardcore?? Meh..., 26 Feb. 2005
Not so much heavy metal as post-hardcore. Similar to so many, yet so different I can't compare. This is a wonderful album, and not as hardcore as others would say. The singing outweighs the shouting and screaming, so this is probably a post-hardcore record. The tunes aren't "catchy" as such, but are enjoyable to listen to. "The Artist in the Ambulance" IS THE TRACK! Awesome, awesome, awesome. My 3rd fav track of all-time behind System of a Down-Toxicity and Funeral for a Friend-Escape artists never die. Download them if ur able, cos if u like this u'll most likely love them. Anyway, yeh this record is a worthy purchase, not for the die hard metallers probably, but for those just under that category.

4.0 out of 5 stars Payable by Direct Debit. Or Death, your choice., 26 Feb. 2005
This review is from: Payable on Death (Audio CD)
Now, this ain't metal, don't let that review mislead you (should be below, if not, forget it). This is a great album and all, but it ain't metal, just nice & pretty hard rock, really. WIth tnes such as 'Will You' 'Asthma', 'I and Identify' and 'Eternal'(a beautiful acoustic guitar instrumental), this album IS worth the money. This is the best Christian rock band around, except for maybe Relient K, and is easy to see why they're also popular to non-christians. Lovely LP, just lovely. Get it if you like hard rock and a bit of nu-metal.

4.0 out of 5 stars GO.C. the O.C.... then listen to this, 26 Feb. 2005
You really have to be a fan of the show, like be into it and all, to appreciate this album. And, of course, if you weren't u wouldn't buy it anyway i suppose... Yeah cool cool album, best track from Keane "Walnut Tree" with a beautiful tune and lovely lyrics to boast. And brings back that image of Seth and Ryan seeing Marissa and Summer after not seeing them over the summer at school. Yeah, and also Specialist by Interpol. Probably cos i'm a huge Interpol fan. Third best Trouble Sleeping, another lovely song.
This compilation really does capture the O.C. feel, and a very gut buy (gut=good). So, yeah, jus purchase it if ur unsure, and enjoy! Or not, u know.

2.0 out of 5 stars *Ahem* Switchfoot! *Ahem*, 16 Feb. 2005
This review is from: Hide Nothing (Audio CD)
What happened to Further Seems Forever, man??!! How to start a fire was a justifiable album, and much better than this dirt. The guitars are too clean now, the lead singer's voice is just annoying, and it's freakin' switchfoot! Don't purchase, unless you like switchfoot...

4.0 out of 5 stars It' so cold in this house!, 16 Feb. 2005
This review is from: Silent Alarm (Audio CD)
Ok, for starters, why, WHY? would you give Bloc Party's Silent Alarm 1 star?? WHY?? Anyway, secondly, this album is inspiring. Sure they may have been hyped up a bit too much, but still this album doesn't dissappoint (well, for me it didn't). Kele's voice is not bad, he isnt the best singer, but it's the emotion he puts behind it... not to mention the pretty outstanding lyrics. It's an original album! Emo, indie, pop-rock, you've got that all here, so maybe that's why you lot didn't like it, cos of it's diversity. Awesome album just missing out on the 5 stars, and one of the most important LP's of this year probably.
