5.0 out of 5 stars Review, 20 Jan. 2012
As a reader of The Guardian I've been familiar with the journalism of Gary Younge since he was a tyro. His development into the most perceptive commentator on race and identity issues today has been a joy to witness over the years. His residence in America has added an extra perspective to his work and the book in question brings together the thought processes that have been evident in op-ed pieces for the newspaper. Who are we....? is essential reading for sociologists and policy makers who need to understand the territory; and for the general reader who appreciates sound argument and enjoys a humane approach to issues that are often difficult.

This review is from: McIlvanney on Boxing (Hardcover)
McIlvanney is not just one of the best sports writers around, he's one of the best writers around. And this is as good as it gets for lovers of boxing. His deep and extensive knowledge, and his humanity, are all on display in this essential exposition of the heroic and tragic faces of the sport.
