4.0 out of 5 stars ... do stuff that would make andy mcnabs books as useful as a pair of sticks on a baked bean, 9 April 2017
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well i once had this book as a 16 year old unaware of the furore of its authors past that marked him out as nothing more than an ex royal artillery sapper and former member of the SAS opposition squad " the goon squad" who failed selection and lied about his career and activities whilst hanging around those who served in order to provide the book with enough convincing army slang and james bond derring do stuff that would make andy mcnabs books as useful as a pair of sticks on a baked bean. Having purchased this book in order to finish reading it as a world weary 32 year old i can see for myself in that its a good ripping yarn where 75% of it is truthful in parts but riddled with inconsistencies that leaves the ending of the book stuck in pergotary but since Tom Carew ( real name philp sassengro) was exposed as a liar during a bbc news interview in 2001 at the height of 9/11 and suspicions surrounding his death from monoxide poisoning in a belgian garage which remain unsolved leaves the book in a state of suspended animation with no way for the expired author to clarify what really happened which is ashame as this is a good book if read from a neutral point of view!

5.0 out of 5 stars A debut album full of fire and youth all killer and no filler!, 4 Dec. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A raw exciting overlooked debut album shadowed by the ascendency re-released with added meat and potatoes of demoes that shows how much they lit up the metal scenes as 17 year olds that matured into such a metal behemoth of the naughties. Get this over their latest album as its all killer and no filler for xmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutley hardcore, 3 Aug. 2016

The title may cause sniggers for those thinking its a porno not the titular name of the hero who goes through hell and back to rescue supposedly his creator and wife estelle from the clutches of arkan whilst being aided and abetted by jimmy in a series of bloody shootin/hand to hand fighting versus many of his enemies from a call of duty/point of view perspective which can be a thrill ride for some that makes up for the bonkers plot which despite this it still deserves 5 stars for. Originality that usurps doom the film if not the game for being a brilliant action packed point of view film.

5.0 out of 5 stars Black Hearted Goodness., 18 May 2016

Didn't Dissappoint this is miles better than Than the house of gold and bones and whatever Gerard Way puts out as this appeals to the black hearts of anybody who loves Black Metal and Alberic Van Helsing.

Can't wait for the Fictional Band Son's Of Balaur's debut album to be released this will fuel debates on who will be singing behind the mic.

5.0 out of 5 stars All the CREAM you need!, 3 May 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Classic Album Selection (Audio CD)
Its very a rare a box set has 4 albums that have been executed very well with substance over style which is down to the incredible muscianship of Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton who despite the troubled relationship produced four albums that have stood the test of time well.

Even if Ginger Baker hates the comparisons with the drummers of today since his style comes from the days of Gene Kruper his perfect beats coupled with that of Jack Bruce's fluid Bass a perfect foil for Eric Claptons lead guitar solo's brings out the best on what the tracks have to offer like "I feel Free". "Sunshine of your love". and my favourite "The White Room."

This may not be one of them fancy box sets with all the out takes coupled with a big book with an essay on the band but this is all the cream you need!

3.0 out of 5 stars Tommy Victor is the weak link to this album!, 27 Nov. 2015
This review is from: Skeletons (Audio CD)
if he had the guitarist Doyle from his misfits days then this covers album couldn't have sounded like the dreaded love child of Prong. even though Glenn's voice holds strong amongst even amongst the most diabolical of covers such as ZZ TOP's Rough Boy and Even Black Sabbaths N.I.B. whats ruined this album is Tommy Victors Guitar he hasn't truly tapped into what made the songs what they are turning them into cast offs from his own Bands back catalogue.

4.0 out of 5 stars coming out of the shadow of KILL BILL!, 17 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Strangers (Audio CD)
Hotei having sold millions of albums in his native Japan and being the person famous for creating the (IN)famous KILL BILL theme has decided to now come out of the wilderness for his western audiences with this international debut album that not just features the famous instrumental but solid performances by a surprise array of guests that bring enough meat and potatoes to songs like how the cookie crumbles, texas groove, kill to love you, move it that feature no other than Iggy pop, shea seger, richard z krupe and Matt Tuck giving this album enough punky metal balance to the other instrumentals a good purhcase for those who appreciate what hotei has to offer. 4 stars is a fair offer as this album could have shaved an instrumental track or two but its otherwise a solid rock album by one of japans famous guitar warriors.

5.0 out of 5 stars best ever mad max crossed with RAD on a bmx film ever, 17 Oct. 2015
This review is from: Turbo Kid [DVD] (DVD)
Came across this in ASDA in a section full of b-movies with glossy artwork trying to convince me they are genuine pieces of work and dare I say for 7 pounds this was a brilliant homage to 80's action flicks ( mad max), and BMX bikes (RAD). (Spoiler alert) it had me emotional when apple died after saving turbo kid lifes and michael ironside played a convincing baddie which sealed the deal for me. It was a consistant film with good actors/actresses, decent amount of action and gore of course. Get this film for your loved ones or for yourself for xmas. 10 out of 10

5.0 out of 5 stars ILL BE BACK!, 6 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A brilliant retro release of the iconic terminator from Sega's robocop vs the terminator in action figure form with realistic battle damage and parts of his exoskeleton exposed after getting in a spot of bother with Robocop complete with plasma blaster. Not a toy but ideal as a display model!
