4.0 out of 5 stars Fun RPG but one niggly bug, 27 Mar. 2015

Really enjoy playing this game, great graphics and fun battles. BUT there is one really annoying bug. On my Kindle Fire HDX if I pause the game and the screen times out and goes into power save mode when I try to play it again the screen stays black. I have to leave the game and reload it again, very annoying!

Very impressed with this game, feels like you're in The Walking Dead. It's a bit easy on lower levels but challenging on higher difficulty settings.

Really hooked on this game, has a real 'one more go' element to it. Great humour in it too, love the quarterback and ninjas power up

Ok, so it only cost 99p, but I feel that this book could have done with some proof reading and a glance over by a professional editor. So many spelling mistakes, and a mess of a plot spoilt a good idea for story.

First of all let me just say - This game is amazing!!! 2K (Edit: Sorry, apparently I should have said Fireaxis, becuase apprently 2K only published the game, and that really matters to a few people out there) have taken aspects of the original X-Com (an absolute classic in its own right) and introduced a more modern feel to it, producing one of the best strategy/action games I've played in years. I'm a massive fan of Turn Based Strategy games, and whilst they aren't everyone's cup of tea, the way this game has been put together you'd be hard pressed not to have a good time playing it.

The difficulty settings in this game are spot on, and hark back to the days when Hard actually meant Hard and you weren't spoon fed a game from start to finish. Be warned, Normal difficulty will really challenge you, and expect to get absolutely trounced if you leap into Hard or above right from the start.

The graphics are good, and the artistic style of the game really suits the conflict stricken world you find yourself in, where mankind is desperately clinging on for survival against a far superior force. Night time missions are suitably shadowy and sinister, whilst daytime missions show off the detail the developers have gone to creating each specific type of terrain. And the main HQ is represented in fantastic detail too, making you really feel like you have an elite force at your fingertips.

The game pad controls take a little getting used to, but once mastered makes the game a very immersive experience.

All in all I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes their games to contain a bit of of shooting/blowing up aliens whilst also requiring some pretty deep strategising. A LOT of fun.
